US Army War College Lectures on You Tube

Post by KG Erwin »

A guy on the BOA2 forum mentioned these, and it's an interesting set of over 250 videos covering many different wars and periods of history. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xs-eegRU ... r_embedded

This particular vid is the author of "The First Way of War" (Dr John Grenier) discussing the subject of his book.

So far, I've watched this discussion, as well as ones by Fred Anderson about the French & Indian War and David Glantz discussing the Soviet German War 1941-45.

Thanks for that. I have just watched the Glantz lecture. There is some great stuff here.

Best wishes,
Steve
I love the smell of TOAW in the morning...

You're quite welcome, Steve. I'm glad that my fellow gamer provided me with the link. I will do whatever I can to support the study of military science, theory & history, as I know that good academic material on these subjects is sometimes difficult to find on the web. Of course, these lectures are just a starting point, as I recommend seeking out the authors' books.

Here's a discussion of 9/11 by a former Director of Studies, Strategic Studies Institute at the US Army War College: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjJFHZ10C5I

EDIT: I used to live within driving distance of the War College and used their library to do research for a TOAW scenario. The library is open to the public, and according to its website makes its material available via interlibrary loan.

There's also some great war movies on You tube too if you don't mind 10 minute sessions.
