Overlord I - Day 4

Post by StoneAge »

Day 4:
German have move aircraft to closer airfields so today's targets are 3 rail and a heap of airfields all bombed from 8,100 hope there are not to many HAA on those fields or this could get messy.

loads of recon (not on this image)

still trying to take out his long range radar

Bomber Command is back tonight all planes in the air, trying to put up a RCM screen see if it works. The oil I bombed the first night just went red and here I was thinking I got no hits on it at all.

Mission Report:

Still had the Le Harve attack go to its secondary and then bomb through clouds. largest raid of the day wasted.

B17 raid on averache missed everything they went all the way and dropped their bombs in the open.

Mozzie raid was good got in without trouble, lost a few on the way back to an Armoured units AA.

other than this a good day all round

Overlord I - Day 4

Here is something interesting Bomber Command.

I had a row of 4 groups of 6 RCM aircfraft along the coast. These eather made my BC plane invisable or the germans where camping out in the wrong spot.

as you can see my raids came and went and he patroled up the top

Overlord I - Day 5

Post by StoneAge »

Day 5:

Bomber Command is just going to keep on bombing anything and everything.

After yesterdays raids and looking at where the german troops in normandy are pulling their supplies our target for today is Creil Rail Yards and all the airfield around it. We will be bombing from over 20,000 so I don't expect to knock out all these airfields. problem is the germans have moved in about 140 aircraft into these airfields. I expect to loss a few more plane than I have on other days but I want to rmove this rail yard and try to destroy his maintenance ability from these fields.

Other target for the day is the port of Le Trait as this is another step in the supply line of normandy.

Just noticed I forgot to put in my fighter sweeps that I normally run down the edges of my bomber stream. (Oh Hell No)

Interesting:

Two things of interest my opponent is setting up patrols, looks like I will be leading with FS from now on just to make sure the way is clear.

Second image is the German supply line into normandy. follow the white line through the rail yards.

Overlord I - Day 6

Post by StoneAge »

Day 6:

Starting my rest periods all bombing units are being rested. I have started early as at the moment I am using 59 as my cut off point.

Targets for today finish off two rail yards and hit Rouen/Sotterville. I dont want to come back and do this one again as it has a flak battery sitting there.

Mozzies are going on another airfield raid trying to push him back from the close in fields. I want all fields inside the red line to have some kind of damage by the end of the battle.

Trying to protect my main raids with 3 FS that target where the 3 yellow circles are 1 will arrive on target almost 1/2 hour before the raid and should cut off some fighter coming from paris.
