Text Obsured

I got a new laptop and installed all my SoW games on it. I have Gettysburg, Pike Creek, Antietam, Chancellorsville, and all are not updated to the latest version.

Suddenly the Text for the options are blanked out.

I start the game and get to the screen where you would normally select New Game, etc, and all the options are blanked out. When I click to get to the next screen, same thing. I know what some of the boxes are supposed to be, so when I check getting to the Gettysburg scenarios where it shows the map, the map is shown, but the Text above each option is an empty White Box. When I get to the Other Battles screen, all the options are likewise boxed out.

Thoughts?

It worked fine before I uploaded the Pike thru Chance modules.

I've been installing a bunch of old software, could there by a problem with DirectX was loaded by another game, etc?

Go this new machine in part because my old one did not run SoW smoothly, so would really like to figure this out.

I put it into Windows XP 3 mode and Administator both and it worked. Running as Admin alone did not work.
