Enemy sitrep:
Sumatra: suspected lack of supply. No indication of further movements to Benkolen.
Many submarines spotted by air recce west of JAVA (most likely heading to Cocos island).

CHINA EXPEDITIONARY ARMY

Enemy sitrep:
Alert! Major ground operation ongoing at Changsha - enemy movements spotted by air recce: to the southwest (good), southeast (quite bad) and east (very bad).
Concentration of fighters over Changsha.

Current op:
North China Army: all reserves are being commited to Hankow-Wuchang area: no attempts can be made to reach the 37th Division. However, air support will be provided.

1st Army: will support 12th and 11th Armies with garrison duties.

12th Army is activated. Army HQ and about one division of troops will depart to Hankow ASAP and defend Line C (see map below).

Also, the 51st Naval Guard Unit capture the small Fanning island (SE Palmyra) and 20+ enemy Catalina PBY-5 search aircraft were located and destroyed! This should decrease enemy naval air search significally.

Xmas island will be bombarded in 48-72H.

14th ARMY operation I: landing at Palmyra & Xmas island: 35 heavy bombers (B-17E) attacked Palmyra harbour. At least 5 bombers were shot down by A6M2 fighter units from KB2. BB Hyuga was hit by 10+ bombs (500 lb) and damaged. However, the resupply effort was successfull (AKEs). Xmas island will be bombarded in 24H. The landing at Xmas island will commence in 72H.

SOUTHERN ARMY (Burma-Java-Ambon)

Two coastal artillery regiments at Port Blair.

TORA SAKUSEN-2: capture of Djambi oilfield: 18th Division is advancing to the north towards Djambi IOT hinder enemy units to link up with the two enemy divisions at Djambi.

15th ARMY Operation I: Conquest of Central Burma. Next target will be Lashio in eastern central Burma.

INMON SAKUSEN (16th ARMY operation I): All TFs are underway. Port Blair was bombarded by three CA - no report of damage.

Establishment of safe convoy route and air patrol bases for ASW (Borneo-Philippines): IJN Engineers are building airfields at Jesselton and Puerto Princessa.
