The special effects look like 1930s era Buck Rogers.

There were a handful of Chinese-Americans who flew for China. I seem to recall reading somewhere that China's top ace in the war was born in Portland, OR.

The weird shadow as the Mossie crashes is very bad. That's the sort of thing you'd see in a movie made by a 12 years old using his plastic models.
