Awesome In-Game Screens

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

Thanks again Icebox. Seems like I've been saying that quite often lately.

Tanks seem harder to kill since the lastest update this one even charged and flattened my russian gun and crew.

Yes, I have seen that happen too. Enemy troops are killed if run over, but own troops are not injured (to deal with path-finding glitches) - very cleverly designed.

The German tank is set fully ablaze. 2 crew members made it out on fire, 1 died next to the tank and the other can be seen running around on fire.

Off-topic.

Has anyone been watching the Soviet Storm series? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XxIqzRIFug) Thoughts? Some of the graphics used are very effective (a few are really bad, though, and there are some very overweight actors in some of the combat scenes LOL)

made an animated gif. hope its not too small and runs ok...

Well i had to reduce it to get it under the size limit. Blew up the tank and just started snapping shots as the guy started running around on fire. Wish they'd raise the limit on this forum for uploads. some of the forums have 1mb limit, why 500k on this one?

Waiting for an attack, in the fog in the dead of night...then a fight breaks out.

Something I haven't seen before.

The crew of this Marder lost a track to a T34. Once the enemy tank was out of LoS, the crew jumped out and started making repairs. When the T34 came back into LoS they climbed back in, knocked it out and then resumed work on the damaged track. All of this was AI-driven.

Amazing bit of coding.

The AI does a pretty decent job in this game, not great but decent.
Down the road I'm sure Graviteam will improve the AIs performance to a more acceptable and challenging level given time, but overall I'm pretty satisfied with it performance.

I remember Andrey stating once that it would take him 100 years to code a tactical AI genius. But,I have noticed that the AI has improved dramatically with the last couple patches, though it still needs some serious attention to troops just standing around while under fire.

I'd also like to see the hand to hand combat improve, right now it looks ridiculous.

I generally have to give the AI a 3 to 1 advantage during quick battles when they are the attacker, but I'm fairly happy with the AIs performance on the defense.

I think if Graviteam is still around in another 5 years we will have a very decent AI to contend with in the future.
