SWE 1.05 Crashes when selecting unit

Post by von Schmidt »

Hi Team,

It sounds like this is an issue for several people already: when I select any unit, the game crashes.
Version: Impulse, v1.05; I tried re-downloading and reinstalling without success. Also tried with a few scenarios.

Please see attached the console-out (which seems to indicate missing files or settings).

My system in brief:
Win8 Pro 64bit
CoreI7, 8 GB, GeForce 670gtx

Hope this helps to track down the issue - please let me know if you need more information.

Regards,
-von Schmidt

I bought this from Gamersgate, but same problem here. Crashes every time I select a unit. I am running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit.

Hi gang, we are not supporting W8 yet, but already working on a solution.

I'm not having a problem with the game running W8 64 bit. I patched to 1.05. I'm running a ATI 5870HD graphics card with the latest W8 drivers.

Ahh....changed to Window mode and now it crashes all the time trying to move a unit.

Uninstalled and reinstall and still crashing now even in full screen mode. Bummer [:(]

I seem to remember this issue happening with early mod counter sets on other games. Try selecting a different map and counter skin and see if you get same results.

I tried different counters, but no go. ToW and Storm over the Pacific work fine, so no idea why this one crashes. Updated to the latest beta video drivers too.

Finally, my game now works.
