Aha! Wow. Got a question already LOL. I see "max amount of staff" (MX.STF) in the upper left corner... does that mean this officer can lead 10 staff? and 10 staff can lead about (with 100% HQ coverage) 100 troops?

10 staff is not enough to lead much of anything, maybe 2 divisions if you keep them small. Hopefull experience raises the amount of staff an officer can lead?

Indeed, 10 staff doesn't lead much, but it also can mean .. speculating here... that there are officers almost from platoon level and up. So the usual HQ can lead up to anything, any force you build, but officers can only lead so much...until they maybe get promoted... mmm are there "medals" involved say like Panzer Corps has?

Please make this officer function selectable "on/off" when setting up a new game. Thanks.

+1, make it optional to use please.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

Are this officers random? Are they normal units (can be killed, must walk or be transported) or additional abstract things (like in PT)? I didn't like PT officers, to be honest (I don't like abstract leaders at all in strategy games XD).

They will be abstract at start. And they'll be much like the officers in the DC series. But eventually ''one day'' I want to make them real physical entities on the map.

Also it is of course optional to play with them or not.

They will be randomly created so they remain in sync with the rest of the random world. :)

I wonder if they will be something that we modders and scenariocreators can mess with too :)

Sure but it is very much stringlist and event based.

And I think its going to be limited to random games at the start.

I like it too (I liked the leaders in Peoples Tactics and was disappointed by their absence from AT) - great addition to the game!
And they'll be much like the officers in the DC series.
Commanders in DC-series are very good and interesting. How much the commanders/leaders in AT will be like them? They will have some (random) selection of command cards (similar in effect to the ones in DC), command points for executing these cards and some parameters for calculating the effects of the cards plus some flat bonus to subordinated units or just the later? And in the case of first concept ("orders" via command cards as in DC - this will be awesome!) how they will be "played"? On individual units or on all subordinated to the HQ in question (probably the first option?)? And another (last) question: will AI be able to play with officers switched on or they will be only for human players?
