Oh dear....the US are on fire - its likely to be 6-2 after day 1. Nothing the Europeans can do against this golfing masterclass......

Of course Tiger and Stricker fail and screw us over or it could have been 6-2

Golf might be fun to play but I do not have the patience to watch it.

Oh I enjoy watching it now. I sit here when Tiger is playing going "miss it miss it miss it" and he usually does. [:D]

I'm sure Woods will come good in the singles. Trouble for Europe is that - Woods and Stricker aside- the rest of the US team have been playing so incredibly well. The American putting has been extraordinary. They never miss the short putts (unlike Europe - Lawrie had an awful close-range miss) and they have been holing incredible putts from distance.

If Europe are to win today they need the Americans to collapse - on the evidence of the first two days, that ain't likely.

Oh well, we live in hope that miracles can yet happen. After all, the US recovered from 4 down at Brookline, but given that traditionally the US have been stronger in the singles, it's a lot to ask.

Did you even watch it? Check the scores, they played well.

And Davis is sitting just about everyone, including Phil who won his first three matches.

That was emotionally draining!!

Congratulations Europe and well played to the US - who completely whipped us for the best part of two days but were well beaten on the third.

Ian Poulter I love you; I want to marry you and have your babies [&o]

Ian Poulter I love you

His putting on Saturday was amazing. I missed all of the early action today (didn't turn it on until it was 11-11) but is was exciting to watch the end. Congrats to the Euros.

Reflections on the night before. I woke up with a buzz this morning - despite only a few hours sleep. A truly great day; a match played in great spirit. Both captains were dignified, and I thought that Mickelson showed class on the 16th, congratulating Rose on a great put - and one that ultimately was to prove vital in setting up the Englishman's 2,3 finish.

So pleased for Olazabal and the boys, and with thoughts of Seve never far away, it was an emotional, roller coaster. I do not recall the time, but very late in the day the projected score was US 16.5 - Eur 11.5 and it looked like the early outside chance of success was slipping away. But the game then turned on a few matches - Garcia's being perhaps the vital one.

Bring on Gleneagles 2014!!
