Game resolution & mouse cursor

When I load the game I don't get a mouse cursor in the full-screen mode. The cursor is there, but not visible.

I can eventually switch to windowed mode, but my monitor is 1920 x 1200 and it looks silly playing it in a window smaller than the desktop.

I know I can switch the resolution in the config file, but if you set the resolution too close to the desktop resolution, then either map scrolling or part of the interface gets disabled.
