Endurance

Post by USSLockwood »

I want to send some tankers from San Diego to Pearl. I included a few destroyers for
escort but their endurance shows red. Can the escorts complete the voyage?

Yes, they will refuel from the tankers (notice that the group as a whole probably reads green in terms of endurance which means that as a group they can make it). As a test, put the home port the same as the destination, that might bring all ships into the green (meaning no refueling) but again, all ships should make it. Hal

I agree with dr.hal, but I would add this caution: if the total endurance is green, but just barely, the tankers will refuse to fuel the DDs near the end of the TKs endurance.

Thank you gentlemen. I set Pearl as the new home port and the endurance turned green.

Good point Jetjockey, I missed that. Hal

Also I think that the endurance is including the return trip, so if they are stopping then returning, they can refuel at the offload destination.

Provided that the offload destination has fuel! That's not always the case.....
