RE: Mod Survey
OK, this is the 9th Pz Div modded according to Glantz's table. Please sanity check.
However, I am having a problem - please see the Tech Forum.

@RedMarkus,
I am sorry you cannot change the font for the hex labels. Its a long story, but you cannot.
Best,
Vic

ORIGINAL: Keunert
a little more red and a little more yellow still and i am happy
It looks too bright on the screen when I add more yellow!
I am not the best graphics modder - normally I do place names and OOBs etc.
Let's see if Kiddytoto or some other map modder brings their skills to this title. At least we know it can be modded quite easily!

RE: Mod Survey
I suppose we will want the usual flag mod to for more historical flavour.
Hmm. I ought to be able to use the ones from WtP I suppose although something for the USSR would be good.

I think the stock map needs yellow in it as well, if only to break up the all green background. Is it possible to add large patches of yellow here an there to represent wheat fields, ect.?

The argument made by others is that the terrain was mainly Steppe grassland and there were not many areas of farming...

RE: Mod Survey
I agree with you, but I still think that the map could use a little something to make it livelier. If you have the time, please indulge me and make a quick mod simply to see what it would look like. It might look great!
The Russian steppe is full of different types of wild grass and I think little patches of dark-yellow the size of small towns here an there, filling up some of the empty areas, would wake the map up a bit. I'm trying to do it on my end, but I'm having a hard time of it...

I'd appreciate that, Wodin! If he could just start out with just a few "patches" of yellow/dark-yellow. Keep it simple. It could represent wheat, wild grass, ect. I just feel it done right with the proper shade of yellow, would contrast nicely with the stock map. Currenty it seems like it's missing something.

RE: Mod Survey
We can't add or mod the on-map text. Vic has confirmed that.
This needs to go into the requests to the devs...

RE: Mod Survey
redmarkus4,
in your modded German Infantry image you placed a HQ squad in the background.
How about if you place instead the HQ unit again the three infantrymen in the background, put smaller size of course?

Authentic planning map German Wehrmacht
redmarkus4, krupp_88mm,
Find (Internet?) an old, authentic planning map of the area of operations of the German Wehrmacht during the Second World War.
Color and generally tries to visually adjust the original Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue map from the area of operations planning map.
Is that a challenge for you?

I can look at it if you find an example online that you like and send us the link...

I want a general feeling
I do not even look like the originals.
I wish I could look on the map of Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue like Manstein, Beck, Jodl, and all the other generals were once on their large card tables to advise and to plan.
So I would have liked. Such an optical illusion I would love to see, love to feel.

War in the East style map
Even at the risk to become unpopular now: A map in the War in the East style would be a great thing!

RE: War in the East style map
I want to do this, it will take alot of work and time.. But i dont think i can, i think i can only edit hex's. If i can edit hex's and place them individually, than it may be possible to do it, but i think i would first need to go through the entire map and assign each hex to each graphic? still not sure how this works, i need a walk through, because i dont even know how or where the game editor is currently.ORIGINAL: Templer

And making a hex pattern that uses a historical map will take more than 13 hex's, im not going to say it wouldn't work, but it wouldn't be terribly accurate, unless i can figure out how to make more hex's and assign them to the map file. I will see if its possible, but it will take alot of time, so dont expect anything for awhile.
