GC 1941-1945 - Back to the game.

Post by matt.buttsworth »

After some illness, I am returning to the game.
I have played 4 games. 1 one, lost 2, with another stopped.
I am seeking an intermediate opponent wanting a game of 1-2 turns per work.
House rules negotiable but I am very sensitive to the Lvov pocket and will not play a Michael two turn extension of the Lvov pocket.
Prefer a sporting game.
I would want to play as Soviets.

I'm happy with that.
I prefer random weather and limitations on the Lvov pocket - no killer Lvovo pocket and definitely no Michael Lvov 2 option that destroys the game.

I am happy with regular pocket.
Random weather is harder on the Axis, but knowing every weather turn that is coming does not seem quite right.

To put you at ease Matt, the extended Lvov is not possible anymore. It was stopped in a patch a while back that made Reg's pay extra MP's on turn one. Divisions get the surprise bonus but Reg's don't. To get a thing like the Extended Lvov to work you need the Reg's.

Can you email me a higher res of that image. Also what version is it? I mucked around with the extended Lvov after the reg nerf patch but found it just too leaky for me. The reg movement rate in turn one was changed in 1.06.11 I think. But you might be able to do something if you sent pretty much all of PG2.

I suspect your opponent may not be using the latest patch, but I can't be sure with the image you sent. I don't think its possible to reach some of the hexes he has with Reg's now. But I will check it.

You can check what version your opponent is using, it's at the end of the event log.

Sorry for the thread hijack. I am rooting for my old opponent gids! [:)]

I am fairly certain your opponent is not using 1.06.11 or later.

:p tx tarhunnas ,well my first turn was not that great i think my opponent will have a dream come treu with me
failed to take riga and im worried i screwed up in the middle  and in the south i left an opening as requested, but this will be a learning expirience tbh
i only had like 2.4 k airplanes casualties....where i used to have 4 to 5 ,maybe thats normal? i need to check
Afv on T1 was about 2000 losses for him
Btw tarhunnas how do you handle your SU units as the germans  and your TOE %?

It was months since I played Axis, frankly, I have forgotten all the details. Maybe others can help?

With the new version you will not get much more then 3000 aircraft on the first turn. I put the TOE of the SUs (especially artillery, at and aa) to 50 at the beginning of the campaign. You will burn out your armament points very fast otherwise.
