All those wonderful screenshots I'm seeing especially in AARs... what editing software are you using? I'm looking for something much lighter than Photoshop/CorelDraw/PSP so advices would be great. Thx

MS Paint!

simply press "print" and then "Strg+V" in Paint.
Or use the "snipping tool" that was introduced in Windows 7 IIRC.

I'd format my HD rather than editing an image with MS Paint [:D]

I've been using ScreenHunter6 for a short while so I don't have much experience with it.  Windows and McAfee did not like me downloading it at all (the free version).

Paint.NET is also good and free

I use that (love it for easy markup of pics) and use Greenshot (also free) for the screen captures.

Don't forget the ALT-"Print Screen" key which just captures the active window to the clipboard and not the whole desktop (Very handy if you have multiple monitors......) From there you just paste into your graphics editor of choice.

Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) is a simple graphics viewer/converter if you don't want to create the Mona Lisa. It has rudimentary text and arrow editing functions and will allow you save in any format, number of colors etc.

Cheers,
Reg.

Thank you everybody. I'm afraid I have been equivocal. My problems are not with capturing screenshot (I use CaptureWiz and it works great) but with retouching, I mean inserting text boxes, outlining parts of the maps with red ellipses and similar. I apologize for my inaccuracy [&o]

I understood your question right. [:D] The Gimp is a pretty good editing/retouching program. It has everything the lighter Photoshops have, and its free.

ScreenHunter is free and very easy to use....I love it

you can also check out oldapps.com, look in its graphics section for freeware versions of usable programs.

i use an old version of PaintShopPro, it's got a good clip, and you can add arrows/text.
