Well, Bataan and Singapore just fell (021542 and 022142, respectively), but on the plus side of the ledger, the Akagi was sunk. 9 bombs from my SBD's and then she sailed in the front of the USS Plunger, whose Mk 14s designed to work properly that day. Whee!

Off for home.

It is 17 June 1943 and finally had my first carrier battle with KB. Results are preliminary. Akagi and Hiryu heavily damaged. Kaga, Zuikaku damaged along with Kongo and Haruna and a CL. Shokaku reported sunk.

My losses Enterprise and Hornet heavily damaged. Saratoga damaged. Yorktown no hits. Downed aircraft by 2 to 1. Can not pursue. Hope my subs do a little mischief.

I guess I'm pleased.

I got my fist medal today, Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. Gained by being in the RAF for more than 5 years as of the date of the Jubilee.
