I believe the new one in the game folder will work with either old game saves (pre-patch) or post-patch. The one that Tracker comes with (zip) only works with pre-patch save versions.
Fingers Crossed!
Any idea how to proceed for me? Does it matter if I have the savefile in my AE-folder or if I copy it to my tracker folder? It seems I have the right files in the right places, and the properties are the way they should be according to the instructions...
The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to a close.
In its place we are entering a period of consequences..

Should make no difference. I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I have no problems with Tracker, and I had no problems on Windows XP (aside from needing to start with a new database every three game-months or so when it got too slow to load). You definitely have to use the .dll file that comes with the Beta AE version you are running. Sometimes you can get away with the wrong .dll for a while then it stops working without apparent reason (and that can mess up your problem solving thinking).
In the AE folder is a "Tools" folder that contains the old WITP Staff - I just made another folder for Tracker in there. I set up the Tracker config file (forget what it's called) to look at the "Save" folder and it runs without a problem. I've never had to put the save into the tracker folder. Maybe you have a typo in that entry and it's pointing to some old save file instead?

Try to delete the database (that is all the trackerdb.* files in the tracker directory) and launch tracker again. You won't lose anything as tracker will load the game file again. Your problem might result from a base created previously with a wrong version of the dll.
Yeah, with that SaveMode value, it will look for the save wpae003.pws in the WitPTracker folder and then if it doesn't find it there, in C:\Hortlund\Games\AE\SAVE\wpae003.pws
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.
Few weeks ago this worked absolutely OK. Not sure what had come into its way.

There is only on \ in the properties file. I am not sure why the error message shows two \\. I copied a working Tracker into a new file and just changed the location of the save game.
"Its a dog eat dog world Sammy and I am wearing Milkbone underwear" -Norm.
There is only on \ in the properties file. I am not sure why the error message shows two \\. I copied a working Tracker into a new file and just changed the location of the save game.
So it looks like this
Dir=[C:\Matrix Games\witp-ae-tony]
and not
Dir=[C:\Matrix Games\witp-ae-tony\]
There is only on \ in the properties file. I am not sure why the error message shows two \\. I copied a working Tracker into a new file and just changed the location of the save game.
What does the [Dir] look like?
Also, is that save file in the named folder?
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.
