It's been 6 months now...

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Yes, "next" week has ended... [;)]

I believe that a Matrix next week can mean anything between a real week and a real year ;)

can't simply choose to take the remaining stuff and make it somehow 'open-source' so that it would get a chance to get fixed.

Speaking of open source, presume you've come across Open Combat:

Hi DAK,

We did discuss CCMT and we agree that it will get an update, but we did not have time in this iteration to do that update. We have that scheduled for later this year to bring it up to date with the improvements in the other titles as far as AI and pathfinding especially.

... or maybe have it the other way around? Base CC VI on LSA but incorporate CCMT's unique attributes!

How much support And how long will support will be given to any of the re-releases?

Seems like COI&CCMT is waaaaay behind in terms of updates. And these current re-releases require pretty big updates as well.
I'm just curious at what point will Matrix decide "That's IT" were not doing any more updates?

Hi Michael,

We don't know the answer to that either, but we are very much interested in supporting these games by fixing any critical issues to make sure they are enjoyable and replayable for a long time to come.

The week ends on Saturday. It looks good as far as having some new beta updates posted by then.

I'm not an expert at this, but while we're at it, could some effort be put into making some hardcoded (exe) features soft-coded? This is a gripe for many modders I believe.

Looking forward to the beta, will test.

Why not say that you don't know when the next public beta will be released. Saturday in Europe is more or less over and it don't look to good IMO when there's no proper communication like "We have been ... and while it's not ready here are some dev notes and some screenshots what we're working on". I share the fear of some that the dev team is significant small :(

I'm not trying to poke fun at anyone here but Personally I'm not that excited about a new "Beta" update as Erik mentions.

Beta means Dave starts a new GC.
GC crashes.
Dave has to wait for another "Beta"
The new Beta doesn't allow one to continue there current GC.

Dave starts waiting all over again for the Next Beta.
Then Dave starts a new GC.

Well, what we have now is a broken GC already, so it can not be much worse. I am hopeful.

Hi everyone,

I am in the office working on the installers. I'm sorry I'm a bit late, but these are not imaginary updates and you'll have them very soon. [8D]
