I have foreseen that Jap will invade Fiji, and concentrate some air force ahead of time. My Carriers are coming form PH and it will take a few days before we can find a chance to engage.

However, my air strikes went in uncoordinated and were slaughtered by CAP without achieving any hit.

Suva and Nandi fall shortly after Japanese landing. I have fortified New Caledonia Islands but didn't expect Japs to land here before attacking Noumea.

OZ

Something is seriously wrong in West Australia. I'm expecting no more than 3 Div Japs marh into Kalgoorlie and here it comes, 8 Divs equal. Japs!

How come Japanese have over 9,000AV in India, 3000 in west Australia and 1000 more to invade Fiji at the same time? I didn't expect Japs to have this many LCUs at the this time of war. It totally disrupted my defense plan and 4 Aussie Divisions at Kalgoorlie crushed by the invincible IJ amry. I lost all the four Divs here and about 1,000 Australia infantry squads. On top of the 400 in Delhi and it means it takes more than two years, roughly around the end of 1944 to rebuild all the Aussie Divisions I lost...

On that combat report I see a - for opmode and prep...surely your men were in COMBAT mode and atleast somewhat prepped for that base?

Would you be able to post your CURRENT situation on all theaters and what is happening... seems to be very aggressive and taking a lot of ground...

Have you turned back anything?
Life is tough. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be.

Wow, we're only updated to May '42 and the game is in '43. Sheesh, a lot of ground covered.

My guess is that he moved some from India to Oz without you being aware ...

No his army is still in India and this invasion of west Australia started a month ago.

Actually my guess would be that my opponent has bought several Division from China with only 500-600 PP per division.

Yeah.

On the Delhi attack:

52nd Div is an Eastern Army unit
53rd Div is a Central Army unit

both of which are restricted to Japan, so ~3000PP to release "normally", 750 on the cheap

11th, 12th, 15th Air Def AA Rgts are Central Army units

On the Kalgoorlie attack:

6th Div is an 11th Army unit
17th Div is a 13th Army unit
34th Div is an 11th Army unit
104th Div is a 23rd Army unit

60th Bde is a 1st Army unit
58th Bde is an 11th Army unit

21st AA Rgt is a Mongol Army unit
8th Recon Rgt is a 20th Army unit

so those would require buyout from China to be in Australia. Maybe ~6600PP to release "normally", 1650 on the cheap

Given an embarcation date of about the 1st of April (given time required for shipping) Japan would have accumulated about 105 days of PPs - 105*60 = 6300, and of course starts with 500, so 6800 available. Ie, most of those could probably have been made available so far, if Japan has done absolutely nothing else with PPs...but probably not all of them.

e: other restricted units, at Karachi a couple weeks ago:

61st-64th Infantry Groups (~3000PP)
1st Mortar Rgt (350PP)

and hell, maybe a few others.

yeah after the Australia Campaign we implemented the HR that no cheap LCU anymore.

But before the HR I have no idea how many Divisions and other units have been bought with a discount value...

Well, you can sum up how many PP's he would have had and then apply it to how many div's he could have bought .. quite a few ...

Yes a lot, you will see. This not all the Jap troops yet.

Actually by my account there would be some 26,000AV unrestricted troops for Japan by Apr 43. Even after May 42 he can only buy troops with full PP. That's still a lot!

KB abandoned the invasion fleet and moved 2 hex southeast, and guess what, my SCTF waiting to go into the beachhead was stationing there. And it's a tragedy to lose several CA/CL's to the smart arse KB.

And the Japs landed at Pago Pago.

My first carrier battle in AE!

I divided my 4 carrier into 4 TFs to maximize the coordination and they went in at flank speed and engaged with KB just 1 hex away! Allied coordination was not too bad, and Jap carriers are running out of torpedos in the attack of my SCTF. Though the result is in favor of Japan. I found that allied 1000lb bomb is not very reliable because I saw several bomb hits in the animation but they did't do much damage.

CV Soryu and CVL shoho(confirmed) was reported to be sunk. Which is not true. Japs managed to save Soryu and brought her back in later wars. I have 3 damaged CVs heavy damaged. Two of them could be saved if i know the rule to use cruise speed. Instead I ordered the three CVs to retire at full speed and this order directly lead to the lost of my three carriers! Saratoga, Hornet and Yorktown...I wish I know the rule battle before I engaged in a carrier battle. Now I have only 3 carriers left include Wasp, and the first Essex is due next May. Which means in 1 year US will have only 3 operational carriers against the whole IJ KB. Not good.

As you can see it took 5 1000lb to sink CVL shoho and some hits on Akagi and Kaga are just shrugged off

Maybe it's just because I'm unlucky? It could be another Midway legend...

CV Soryu, Bomb hits 1, heavy fires + CV Soryu, Bomb hits 1, on fire

The Soryu is in trouble. She is set on fire in the morning "heavy fires"-- probably from a critical hit, and is still on fire in the afternoon with an additional bomb hit. Hardly shugging it off it will be interesting if she burms to the waterline or somehow makes it to a port.

Saratoga was too heavily damage to escape. She was finished by the retiring KB though. My other two carriers which could be saved have been lost because of my stupidity.
