What LCUs did you decimate? If they are Commonwealth it will take a while to refill his pools.

RE: Enemy assaults Port Blair
No idea which LCUs that went down...What Andy is unhappy about (to say the least) is the fact that his ships refused to stay and unload despite being ordered to do so at any cost.
Me thinks the combined sea and air threat overruled this order; just so much a commander will take before turning about?
Andy just came in to light for this one - watched the combat replay for the next turn and Allied ships are withdrawing.
Next time will be harder but we will be stronger and better prepared as well then; got lots of new LCUs ready.
- The more time we buy the stronger we become; that's why Andy is indeed in a time sqeeze as stated earlier!

RE: Enemy assaults Port Blair
Lol, Andy was told so often in his AAR he should NOT do such operations because he would be slapped again and again. He doesn't listen, he doesn't learn, he just deserves it again. Well done PzB! I bet Andy will comment it as "c'est la vie" again. [:D]
Not only is he going to lose the equivalent of two or more Allied divisions lost at Sea but you can also kill the three Chindit bgds. Could not be going any better for you.
What makes me really wonder is this though:
22 x Ki-49-Ia Helen bombing from 100 feet
Naval Attack: 4 x 250 kg SAP Bomb
so how can that be? The bomber should have the bomb load halved for attacking at 100ft but they attack with full load. Should only be possible for attack bombers. [&:]

Merry Christmas to the Samurai !!!
RE: Enemy assaults Port Blair
Merry Christmas too!!
Regarding the fact you sank so many troops a question is rising: Is it implemented in the game now that you get victory points for destroying his squads, e.g. is this counted within points for allied army loss points?

Do one stupid thing .. don't toggle some swtich .. put one TF in one mode and another in another mode at a critical time... and the IJ can ruin ones day .. and have the Allies looking at the reinforcement schedule for when the next operations can begin ...[;)]

RE: Enemy assaults Port Blair
Hm, something like that CT! [:)]
I think Andy had to few surface combat TFs that swept Port Blair before the large amph group went in.
Unbalanced forces and things like this may happen...!
All Army level bombers carry full bomb load when naval bombing from low altitude, if it should be different devs have overseen it.
Not much this turn, enemy ships retreating from Andaman Islands.
Numerous bombing missions and only our naval bombers in the SRA find unprotected convoys to pound from low altitude.
I don't have many low level naval squadrons but have now deployed 4-5 of maybe only 6-7.
No idea how many troops Andy lost, probably 2-3-4 thousand troops from 2-3 divisions?
There is no lack of ground sloggers in Allied inventory, naval ships to cover the entire Pacific theatre on the other hand.
CL Yahagi had 27 major flooding, pumped out all other water at Rabaul and set course towards Truk.
Next day flooding was 52 - returning to Rabaul 3 hexes away; ship sank before arriving there [:@]

Did you use "cruise" speed? With damaged ships, I've had good success if they are set to cruise. Mission speed will always sink them for me.ORIGINAL: PzB

Could be worse. At least the game itself isn't filled with scantily clad warrior maidens.

Then either something is wrong in your game or in mine because in mine, none of my non attack bombers carry full load when attacking below 6000ft. Now you are attacking at 100ft and I never go below 1000ft, perhaps at 100ft it doesn't do what it should be. Anyway, I know for sure that any bombers level bombing below 6000ft should NOT carry full bomb load but reduced load. [&:]

RE: Enemy assaults Port Blair
So Andy tried his luck at the Adamans finally. Well, was about time. The question is, will he come back quickly, and with what, or what else? Otherwise he could either bypass the islands, and hit somewhere on the West coast of Sumatra, or cancel all ops in this theater until ground combat in Burma can resume. I doubt his nature is in line with the latter.
Anyway, great job! Your preparations have really payed off.
Merry Christmas and enjoy a great holiday break! And thanks for having gone thru the pains to write this AAR all year long! A perfect daily read, definitely better than my newspaper.

What are you talking about guys?! [:D][:D][:D]
Lets back to the game [:'(].
Castor, dont be so harsh about Andy. I guess he doesnt have enough naval assests to provide cover for failed invasion. Where is his fleet? Pacific?
I guess he tried suprise, sudden invasion on Port Blair, but as we all saw he misculcated PzBs capabilities - once again.
I know its Christmas time, PzB, but if you find spare time for informing us about logistics:
- whats the current situation with navy (upgrades, new CVs, Tachibana class...etc)
- whats going on with r&d (which type you prefere most)
- current status of oil, supply and resources (do you have enough to run your eco and feed
all hungry mouths in Japan war machine?)
PS.
Gräfin Zeppelin, nice picture!
