I finally did it...

I took the plunge and added this time vampire to my hard drive. While I plan to be playing some against the computer, I think my main opponent is going to be an old friend on PBEM.

I've read many posts about this "issue" or that "unrealistic strategy" that impact play styles of both sides. While I'm sure I'll form my own opinions as I play I wanted to know what are the most common house rules used by some of the folks that are a year plus in at this point.

I think the most common house rule at this point is that some Soviet players limit the maximum amount of times that any single airfield can be bombed, to prevent brute-forcing the air combat engine.

Some players may also like to limit the number of Soviet units that can participate in the First Winter counter-attacks to just some number of Front commands, although I think this no longer as common with the neutering of the First Winter effects.

Finally, some players might not allow Romanian units to be moved until their historical activation date, even if a First Turn Lvov Pocket triggers their activation. I've never heard of players agreeing to not use the Lvov Pocket altogether, although it has been thought of before.
