War Leaders should be a Matrix game

Post by wozza »

Can Matrix games please look at getting the rights to War Leaders Clash of Nations this would be a excellent game to add to the Matrix.
This game is similar to RTW but sadly the game didn't have a very good run due to the poor support and the collapse of the publisher Virgin Interactive just after the release of the game. http://www.enigmasp.com/

I would very much like to see Matrix secure the rights to this game.

Didn't this get rather poor reviews? Not sure if it's really a Matrix game. Wasn't it a rather odd RTS with strategic mode to it aswell?

.. and deservedly so.

I'd rather have Matrix spend their time and money on getting good games to the market

I am not one to look at reviews, reviews tend to be bias and if i was to listen to the reviews i would never buy games you can not go on reviews alone. Sure the game had bugs but it was a good game it just never had the chance because of the collapse of V2. If it wasn't for the collapse of V2 more patches would have been released for the game and problems fixed.

A game of this type have never been released for a WW2 type game and not even CA had attempted to do a WW2 series. And as we all know CA had many problems with ETW and NTW. CA had been criticized heavily by one gaming review and even one publisher known for strategic games criticized them which is very unusual but when this publisher speaks out you know this game is bad. However CA didn't take to kindly to the harsh criticism. They were more interested in the favorable reviews like gamespot and the likes which is why i say reviewers can be bias if they are not independent and CA did deserve the harsh criticism they also didn't take to kindly the criticism from the other publisher or from the fans of the TTC forums.

Aren't RTS games in strategic modes by default?

I have to agree with you wozza. I also bought this title and have enjoyed it as well. It is sort of like a simplified version of "Making History II" and can be a very good beer and pretzel game. It is a simple enough game to play. I usually don't play the rts part (although I did at 1st) and go straight for strategic gameplay. I found the battles in rts to get repetitive. Maybe if that part of the game was a bit more polished I would enjoy it a bit more, but the strategic part of the game is fun.

Hi, Yes it feels much like War leaders does except the learning curve for it is steeper as it is more complex. You do not need steam for it because it is a Matrix Games title and is available here on sale at much less to cost than your link points to http://www.matrixgames.com/store/393/Ma ... .the.World Check it out!

I imagine the complexity is similar Supreme Ruler. I also found the devs pages and they also sell it directly. http://making-history.com/

I think the current version of MH2 is a very good game. Reviews are saying 4.5 out of 5 or 9 out of 10. I wish War Leaders was supported as well as MH2.

I believe you're correct and it did get bad reviews. Not a matrix game, If it were I suppose it would be much better. Yes it had the option to fight every battle as an rts battle if you wanted to, you would decide before each and every battle if you wanted to fight it out or just let the computer decide the outcome very quickly. The rts part of it had many different kinds of infantry and vehicles in it but still seemed rather generic to me.

I saw the game the other way around from how you put it. I saw it as a strategic game with an rts added on. I found the rts part to get boring and started playing it as a strategic game only. I have had fun with it for several games and IF it was supported I assume it would have been better.
