I must have lost my marbles....

Time of Fury spans the whole war in Europe and gives players the opportunity to control all types of units, ground, air and naval. Not only that, each player will be able to pick a single country or selection of countries and fight his way against either the AI or in multiplayer in hotseat or Play by E-Mail. This innovative multiplayer feature will give player the chance to fight bigger scenarios against many opponents, giving the game a strategic angle that has no equal in the market. The game uses Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM++ server system.

I must have lost my marbles....

Post by JudgeDredd »

...this game was nowhere near my radar. I had heard about it and read some posts about it and just thought it was just another Grand Strategy game that would fail to impress with the AI

And...whilst that may still be true...I still bought the damn thing...and why? Because of this...

I LOVE that look!

Thanks Judge,
I'm glad to hear the feedback for my mod.
Some tweaks to come.
Improved clouds
Better beach color.

The colors for this map skin is based on a strategy and tactics magazine game I played in the 70's. Operation Cobra.
Any other suggestions welcome.

Agent S, did you create a counter mix wherein the division counters are slightly smaller than the corps? I saw it somewhere, can't recall where. That would be nice to have.

This is very nice indeed... (grumbling as he fumbles for his wallet)

Is this map hexes or squares? Seen screenshots of both.

@gw.
Can't recall, it's been quite a few months since the sop/ tow unit map tweaks.
I'll look through some old folders...
If you can post up some examples here, I can create a set to spec.

Reminds me of the map graphics for World in Flames. Especially the swamp and forest hexes.

Game looks and plays great. Just don't expect good AI.

I need some more time with the rules but then it's time for PBEM.

I disagree. In my experience, the AI is bloody fantastic, especially the Soviet.

No, no. No work on my account. I thoroughly enjoy the counters and maps you have made already. Thanks!

Look at the Libyan screenshot, last one, on the Matrix site, and it looks square-like. Maybe it's from an older development version or something.

Fun game, and much improved over Time of Wrath. I'm sticking to this for a while and taking a vacation from WitE.

But the silly devs still kept the preposterous leader ratings from Wrath in Fury. I'm going to have to change those. (No guys, Budenny and Voroshilov are not better than Zhukov and Vatutin. Reverse those leadership ratings, and you'd be closer to the truth.)

About the AI: Didn't read manual, didn't play the previous game. It was still a walkover as Germany to conquer France in fall/winter 39. Maybe the Soviet AI is better, I don't know.

Ready for a PBEM game Flaviusx?

Maybe.

Is there someway to do a 3 way for this? One side for WAllies, another for Axis, another for Sovs. PBEM I'm sure could handle it, but what about the server? Any one of these is a lot of stuff to handle, I'd hate to be running the Sovs and Allies at the same time.

That sort of happens in these games. Just like Montgomery or MacArthur get bad ratings in some of these strategic games, but mostly due to their egos and not from properly assessing their skills.

And then folks like Zhukov, attrition generals, get max ratings when mostly they had max replacements. It's all subjective, but if they allow it to be changed in an editor, that works out, I suppose.

Well that's disappointing, I just tested and there can only be 2 players. And here I imagined 3+ players...

Have to say I really hope they fix this, the game is very much designed for 3 players. The Allies and Soviets can even declare war on each other...

And there is no PBEM. Server or hotseat only.
