Steamboateng, thanks for trying to explain it to me, but all you've done is add in some Swahili to the previous mix of Norse, Arapaho and Aramaic. What the heck is a data set?

P.S. No need to explain. As you can see, I'm illiterate in these matters and trying to educate me would just take time on your part, and I guarantee you that you can better use that time.

A dataset is what you define it to be. No more. No less.

LOL...I am totally clueless to what Bullwinkle is saying. I know it's right there before my eyes, but dang if I can figure it out.

Nah, he was a skinny little guy. This is Microsoft in 1978. I wonder how many of these folks are at least centi-millionaires?

I might humbly suggest that this would be a good thread for forumites to post photos of their opponents that they happened to come across in unexpected ways. I'm sure this kind of occurence is quite common....

Caught mine with unwashed hair. Begged me to not post, but . . . life is unfair.

I'm sure there is something cute in there somewhere, but what does a strange attractor have to do with unwashed hair? =)

@carnifex - Thanks for ruining my dinner =)

Wow, Bullwinkle, you've stumped almost everyone! [:D]

Gentlemen, how many times has Mr. Bullwinkle mentioned to us who the only opponent he ever plays against is?

The picture in his post above is what Andy Mac really looks like. [:'(]

Yes, you've got me. Andy's middle name is indeed "Lorenz." I had thought that a dead giveaway . . . .

Geez! Talk about foisting an obscure factoid on us innocent forumites! You mean we have to be familiar with computer programming language and know that Andy Mac's middle name is Lorenz to decipher this?

I thought Bullwinkle was hinting that he had forsaken the AI to take on String in a match.

I believe that this is what Steve really looks like, not the photos I've gotten from him showing a guy and his family.

Like most of you, I've never met my opponents. I don't know what they look like, I really don't know anything about their private lives, but I do kind of form a mental image over time, kind of how a listener might form a mental image of a disc jockey they've heard for years but have never seen.

Well, I've been playing my current opponent, Chez da Jez, who is also called Chaz on occasion, for most of this year. I've never seen him and don't know very much about him. But I've formed this mental image of a man of impeccable taste and rugged good looks. He is a cross between Stone Phillips, Cary Grant, and Mattew McCanaughy. He's the intellectual equivalent of the love child of Albert Einstein and Natalie Portman. He has more integrity and credibility than Daniel Webster and Walter Cronkite.

I was wrong. So wrong.

When I logged onto the Internet this morning, there was a news item about my opponent. To say the least, I am shocked. Here's the text of the "headline":
"Chaz Skewered by Ex-'Dancing' Star." Here's the photo attached to that story:

Oh my gawd! I was flabbergasted when I read this. At first I thought you had pegged me correctly then as I read on and finally saw the picture, I realized you had confused me for someone else. My true persona was captured quite well when I posed for a magazine article a few years back. I'll see if I can't find it...... ah, there it is! I'll post it below.

And I do know what you mean about forming a mental image of your opponent as the game progresses and you get to know him better. I've done the same with Dan.

Canoerebel (Dan) always struck as one of those men who eschew the modern conveniences of man in return for a simpler, less complicated life... the type of man who prefers pulltops to twist tabs, the type of man who doesn't need a map or GPS to navigate from point a to b.... someone like the man in the picture...
