Question about the beta: If a game is started using the beta, when it is released as the official version and "upgraded", is there any issue that may cause it to have to be restarted vs not having all the bells and whistles?

I think the answer is no, but I would like to know for sure.

Nemo - most of the Beta come out late Sunday evening, MichaelM's time. That would make it late Sunday afternoon for you and and late Sunday morning for me. This isn't always true, but he does put out a new version most Sundays for the last few months.

I'm sure this has been brought up before (too lazy to search in the middle of a PBEM).

VMSB-244 can upgrade from Vindicators to F4F-Wildcats? Shouldn't that be SBD-3s?

Playing will all updates including up to Beta q6.

I already posted in the Air OOB thread...

Not sure if this has been reported before but I noteced that Escort TFs don't show up in the TF list:

Using the latest Beta 1108q6.

Not sure how long this has been an issue or if they have ever shown up.

They do show up. Sort by mission type or TF number.
Not sure what the initial order of TFs is in that screen, but they are there on my lists.

The initial order is by 'aircraft'. Not so obvious, but I have decided to change this to TF # for the initial sort.
The sort order normally persists from turn to turn (or until game restarted), so you can change to suit yourselves.

OK got it, thought I had sorted by TF number, but your right - its there. Initial sort order on TF would be much more intuitive

Air unit name corrupt. An Aus Spitfire Sqn based at Long Is (100,124) is now call '440930' which looks like a date. I'm using the latest patch but I have no idea when this happened so can't pin it down to a version but I think its recent. Save attached.

I think this is a database error - running game with official patches only - NO BETA'S - and the name change to 440930 appeared in that game on 440930 and if you look in the editor it shows 'rename' 440930 taking place on 'name delay' 440930

My scenario #1 (oct 2010) doesn't have a rename. It is from the last data patch, IIRC.

Looking at a test scenario I have based on the released scenario #1 (June 2009), it does show the rename as IronDuke says.
So if this was a long running game, then it probably used the 'bad data' from the original scenario.

[Explains why I couldn't see anything in the editor for scen 001 when I first looked.]

Yes, but in addition really you have made so much improvement in the UI.  I would say from the last official patch to now, we have whacked 100 clicks per turn ... that's a lot.

I think it was bad data from the original scenario files. My files look okay, but an old test scenario has the date as the Rename text, which tends to confirm that it was just bad data and not a bug causing it.

Michael - Thanks for the new feature of being able to harvest pilots 5 or 10 at a time. In my game as Japan, I have many air groups in Japan that have a few highly skilled pilots. If I use this feature, then they would end up at TRACOM or Reserve pool. Some also include the leader as an active pilot. If I was to make these few pilots inactive (shows up as 1 in "Delay" column), can I then withdraw the 5 or 10 pilots?? Thus, any pilot which shows any number besides a 0 in the "Delay" column cannot be withdrawn using this feature.

Edit: Added a screenshot. I want to keep the two pilots in yellow and the leader (shows asterisk next to name) and harvest about 15 to 20 other pilots.
