Disabling video

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-I cannot run this game because it wants me to pay $14.95+ for a new codec piece.

So, where in the main SOTP folder will I find the video? What I want to do(as I have done in other games) is to type "no" in front of "video", so video won't run.

Can I do this? How?

Comments, please.

Thanks, Hugh Browne

The 3 Vid AVI's Intro 1,2,3....are inside: SOTP/data folder....along with the credits AVI.
Move the 3 Vid AVI some place else...that should do the job.
I just moved them to My documents for safe keeping.

No need to pay out...DivX came with the game.
If you didnt install it at the start then...it can be found in the (redist)folder.
or get the most up to date from here http://www.filehippo.com/software/multimedia/

But looking at the posts here, even with DivX the intro doesnt work for some.
So i would move the AVI's and skip DivX.
This is the only game i own that needs it....so no big loss.
Anyhoo the links there just in case you decide to try it.

Go to the main game folder, open /data/ subfolder and delete all avi files.

Do not purchase any codecs.

doomtrader and DampSquib-Thanks to both of you. I've deleted all the 3Vid AVI's and restarted the computer.

Problem-When I click on the game to start, the opening screen comes up-the one with the Zero and the DD-but, there is no slider tab at any edge to control game.

Comments and suggestions, please. HB

Gentlemen-I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, deleted the AVI's and game runs smoothly.

Thank you both again. HB
