Problems With Crashes (stopped working)

Post by TjStorm »

Hello All,

Ive recently upgraded to Windows 7 due to a nasty virus.

Was previously on XP and distant worlds worked like a dream, with one or two minor problems.

Anyway, since upgrading i have run into a couple of different crashes, with one in particular being annoying

When i receive this crash warning, it reports that distant worlds has stopped working, when in fact it is working without any noticable deficiencies.

This message below pops up and will not go away, and i was wondering if anyone knew of this and how to avoid or fix it:

Definitly sounds familiar, if you search through the threads on this section for "mscorlib" I think you'll find previous cases for it. iirc this is fixed by reinstalling.

I'm having a similar problem. I also had to upgrade to Win 7due to a very nasty virus. I've completely reinstalled both DW and Return. I have DirectX 11 as well as all of the other items it requires. I only get the 'Stopped Working' message. Windows doesn't tell me anything else. Kinda bummed right now.

If you check the windows event logs (the application one mostly) do you see additional info at the time of the crash?
