Found my new TV!
What is it?
Ok, so found a Rescue dog. Looked at some breeders but the 'in yo face' stuff was just too hard for me to take.
Found a boy, named Beau, who's only a couple years old and is being fostered by a friend in Birmingham. Is a special needs dog, because he has early onset hip dysplasia. Nobody wants him because he can't keep up with people that run. Been up for adoption three times, but every time was passed over once people heard about his health issues. I liked him. Here's his pics. He's the second one from the top.

Driving up tomorrow, and it will be a new doggie at dinner. Talked to Rachel, his foster mom, a lot today. He's going to get the best there is. Will send some pics.

Barca!
Can't be unhappy with that [:)]
The thing in the picture below says it's so. Doing all those short passes is a good way of dislocating and luring up the opponents midfield, and then find a player between the midfield and defense line for a good scoring chance. Personally, I love seeing this being done ... over and over again.ORIGINAL: Dixie

I don't see what the big deal about Barcelona is all about really. In general they fall over far too easily and have a holier than thou attitude to the world. And who's to say that stringing together 8 million short passes is actually a good way to play football?
Having said that, Man Utd lost and I'm happy about that.

What are you looking for Sprior - Panasonic, Samsung?
The LGs have some good reviews, Mrs P is enamoured of the 60in model.
If I may, we just researched and bought a 55in Samsung. Did a lot of in-store comparison shopping, then bought through Amazon for a variety of reasons.
My perception was there is a huge viewing impression difference between 46in and 55in, but little between 55 and 60. Price is not linear either.
LG has good ratings. Samsung too. We went LCD after looking at the cost difference on pure LED models. We never really considered plasma.
Big factor for us was number and type of inputs. We had a home theater sound system from olden times we spliced in; the installed TV speakers are fine for everyday, but lack oomph for action movies. If you do a lot of movie watching you'll probably need to budget for at least a soundbar. We also spent for a decent cabinet to support it. Didn't want just a rack. The big TVs are heavy, but you also need to make sure there's clearance on width. Many cabinets from just two years ago are maxed on a 46in, and bigger widths allow you to hit them when passing by.
A big field of competitive action these days is the on-line built-ins, especially the Web widgets preprogrammed in. If you intend to stream the Internet to it, Netflix, Hulu, or similar, the widgets aren't as important. Some upper-class TVs have built-in wireless recievers, but most don't. Our Samsung wants an accessory reciever which plugs into a premade port. I think it's about $80 USD. We haven't worried about wireless streaming yet.
Also, I have a 6-YO analog Tivo which won't do the TV justice. Can't even see the digital channel tier on the cable system. We'll be popping for an HD Tivo this summer.
Good luck with the purchase. It's expensive, but we've already determined we will never go to the movies again. In our TV room nobody texts in the dark, and the popcorn costs $.15.

You couldn't find your arse if someone chained your tongue to it. Why are you surprised?
Sorry to attract flies, gents. My bad.
