Cargo vs Transport TF Question

Post by scout1 »

Is there any advantage either way (Cargo vs Transport TF) for hauling supplies or resources ?

Only differences I am aware of are 1-some escort types and APs will join a transport TF but not a cargo TF, 2-Cargo TF will not show any troop load data.

In my experience it's just ship availability.  You can assign heavy warships to transport divisions (usual for shooting back at hostiles while landing) but not to cargo transports.

Another advantage is the ability at a glace to distinguish what the TF assignment/content is. I put all AKs or AKLs in cargo if that's all they are carrying. If they are carrying any LCU or ACU cargo or are part of a TF with AP troop cargo (for the Allies of course as the Jap AKs can carry troops) I put them in transport. Thus without opening the TF up, I know basically what it's doing... Hal
