ATG Random Game: Project Stone Age I [closed - game on]

Post by Tac2i »

Project Stone Age I [closed] Game on...

This game will begin within 72 hours of ATG release by Matrix Games. Post here if you want to play and include your email address (PM me (Webizen) with your email address if you don't wish to publicly post it). Only one slot left!

It is a game, win or lose--have fun! Note that the random game generator will give every player the same number of cities, at start units and land area but the shape/geography of that land area may be good for some and perhaps not so good for others. No restarts due to this random factor will be considered.

NOTE: Once alliances are formed, it is a TEAM game. One team wins.

Setup Parameters
Players: 5 Human - 5 AI
World Size: X-Large (91x61)
World Type: Dry World (small oceans)
Climate: Full Range

Options Enabled
Map Loop (world is round)
No Shroud (can see map but not units except those within recon range)
Stone Age (limited initial production choices)

Turn Sequence
Player 1: AI - The Empire
Player 2: Roy - The Republic
Player 3: AI - Dragon Empire
Player 4: Phil - Nippon
Player 5: AI - Peoples Republic
Player 6: Huadrauf - Sun Empire
Player 7: AI - Germania
Player 8: Allan - The States
Player 9: AI - The Sultinate
Player 10: GrumpyMel - Burgundy

House Rules
No alliance offers can be made before turn 5. This rule is revoked if a human player declares war on another human player.

Special Notes

1) Players are expected to play and forward their turn within 36 hours of receipt. Players are to avoid opening a turn twice. Things happen so occasional exceptions are expected.

2) Savegame file naming convention: NnnNnnNnnNnn01a.at2 (player's name or initials plus sequence number, for example: Turn 1 - RoyRussEricNic01a.at2, RoyRussEricNic01b.at2; Turn 2 - RoyRussEricNic02a.at2, etc.)

3) The AI players are wild cards and should be considered minor powers. They may declare on you, another AI or may remain at peace.

4) Everyone starts at peace. It costs 20PPs to declare war. If you are in an alliance with another player and he is attacked, you are automatically at war with the regime that declared war on your ally (no cost to you). Once an alliance is made, the only way to rescind it is to declare war on your ally. That is not a nice thing to do, nor forgotten by the person you did it too (or other gamers who may hear about it).

5) Don't be a quitter by simply "walking" away. If things are going badly for you and you feel that you don't want to continue, do one of three things: (a) give your ally your game password so he can play your regime's turn (preferable) (b) give all your land and units to your ally, then surrender or (c) use the surrender button to surrender (if not in an alliance this is your only option). Option C removes your units from the map and makes your cities and land neutral. Last but not least, forward the turn to the next player.

But there should be a way to rescind an alliance without declaring war.
Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed.

To the winner(single winner declared by all players, unanimously), I will give them a winner's trophy of one of my books.  Either the Italian one or the soon to be finished Japanese Volume, but the game must finish or a single winner declared by all.

May be that will be added in a later patch. There is a way to do now: declare war by paying the 20PPs and then offer peace in the same turn. The 20PPs can be viewed as the political cost of breaking an alliance. Of course, if your former ally is upset enough, he may choose to remain at war with you. This solution works best if you don't have units inside your former ally territory, otherwise it gets messy with hex control around your units.

ATG is released. Do I have any takers for the final position in this proposed game? Just for transparency sake, Russ and I were both play testers for ATG. Phil is a former AT player who just purchased ATG.

Hey Roy,

I know we are not supposed to enter into alliances before Turn 5. Can we negotiate prior to that, or are we in the "Cone of Silence" until then? [:)]

Also, should we use the messaging system within ATG, or should we all exchange email addresses?

Looking forward to the game.

Best regards,
Phil

I've got everyone's email address so I'll share that with all players. Everyone is free to negotiate from turn one if they wish using whatever communication tools you choose. I'm not going to try to control that. Once alliances are formed, it is a good idea to arrive at some generally acceptable plan for the team. From experience I can tell you it is easy to see why the allied powers in WWII has such difficulty at times cooperating effectively. We all have our own agendas/priorities. Fun game!

I know it's a PITA but if someone wants to do an AAR, I'll be looking for it.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

I will try and make time to provide some AAR info for this one without giving out valuable intel.

My first turn done and sent to Phil. I guess I'm a warmonger as I declared war on the Soviets (AI) first turn. That AI tends to be aggressive so I'm getting in the first blow. Das Reich (AI) is nearby and I hope they go after the Soviets as well (and not me!).

Due to other commitments one player was unable to start so still have room for one more. We'll restart with a new map. Try a PBEM game, it is really fun!
