Interdiction battle reports?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Interdiction battle reports?

Post by Oleg Mastruko »

Is there any way to see where the air interdiction attacks have been made? It appears they are not recorded in the battle log (F11). It's either that or I am doing something wrong....

I played as Soviet and my opponent managed to pull tons of those annoying and very effective interdiction attacks on my moving units.

Now I switched sides, went over to the dark side ... but I am not seeing any record of Luftwaffe interdiction attacks being made on Sov troops. I assume they are not recorded, because based on my Air doctrine settings they should be executed at least half a dozen times per turn.

Yes, would be nice to see them. Also the details of Russian partisan supply drops remain unknown to the Russian player while the German, on the right settings, can see stuff they shouldn't know, like 'plane in need of maintainence' messages.

Just to correct you: Russian player CAN see his partisan supply drops.

So far the only thing I know (or strongly suspect) is not reported in F11 battle reports are air interdiction attacks.

You could ask your enemy to report when an interdiction attack has been carried out and then look for it.

My guess is that you have made some during his turn and they arent reported to you.

And just to "correct" you, I said they can't see the details of their supply drops that the German can see, and shouldn't be able to see. The F11 buton does not report the progress of a supply drop as is shown to the german player during their turn.

OK; little misunderstanding...

Joel, Pavel, if you're reading this, any chance we might get to see interdiction reports with F11 in some future patch? Thanks.

Theoretically they should be visible, since I see the battle entry is created. If not it should be bugged.

You are right, Oleg. Interdiction attacks performed during enemy movement turn are cleared, since the attacker is "inactive" player and code "thinks" they were done last turn. Will place it on the bug list. Thanks for the report.

While we are sort of on this topic, I notice that there don't seem to be sound effects for interdiction attacks.

I once had an interdiction attack NUKE my HQ.

All the artillery support units were hit heavily.

Interdiction attacks are nasty.   Casualties are roughly 10x what I cause in night ground attacks.

I guess if you catch a division stretched out along a road or two, they make quite a choice target. I've seen units lose thousands in a strike.

Hi all,

We now have "Interdiction" quite changed (Pavel found some bugs) and reports present (Pavel made reports)... testing how it is now... [:)]
