September 23rd: In the end everything happened much faster than anticipated. Brest-L. and Lvov were found undefended and were occupied while Przemsyl fell after a heavy fight. After this, we called off our final attack on Warsaw to limit our losses. But in the end we missed to cut-off the southern escape as well.

September 25th: Summary of the Poland Campaign

The Poles achieved much thanks to their excellent and renowned leader G.W.Gardner:

1) Warsaw was defended successfully
2) Sufficient numbers escaped from Poland to form Polish volunteers in France
3) The Germans needed to play an "extra time card" to win this scenario and used PPs that may be missed later on.

On the other hand the German win was a "must" just to stay in the campaign. We gained some experience and morale (but I don't have enough comparison to put the gain into perspective or rate it in any way).

Next stop: The Benelux and France (where things don't get easier)

Thanks for taking the time to do this AAR. I followed it all the way all even though I didn't want to clutter it up with a lot of extraneous posts, as I'm sure a lot of others did as well. It was well written, the pictures were well done and it was enjoyable to read.

Great job on your win!

Thanks for following our reports. Feel free to comment any time - I'd enjoy some discussions on the sidelines from time to time, especially if you see me do something really foolish - one can only learn from it (but often I can't explain exactly why I do things - it is just a gut-feel on occasion)

Just popped in to Chocolino's side of the AARs to congratulate him on his first and hopefully last victory (although he has now beaten me regularly in Time of Wrathe). Saw his comments above, and want to say dittos.

May 10th: The Campaign in France starts.

(Gary and I had a very long phony war over the extended holidays without any hostilities but it looks that everybody is back in the trenches now.)

The German plan will be very standard. Knock out the Netherlands soon. Approach the Dyle and Brussels without yet committing whether to attack Belgian capital or to bypass it to the south. Most formations of Pzr Grp Kleist will move to the very south of the map where the territory is slightly better than the deep forests of the Ardennes. But the Allies will have to say a word, too about our plans and we will see how soon we have to adapt them.

May 12: The first two days were just strenuous marches towards the west and nothing much happened. But by now we have contact with the enemy in most sectors.

May 12th: Confusing (at least to me) front lines in the Eindhoven area. The units encircled in blue are cut-off Dutch.

May 12th: The southern sector of the front where the main mobile attack forces are concentrated. It will be interesting to see if our tanks can manage the multiple river crossings without being depleted too much.

May 14th: We have played the "more time" card also for this part of the campaign. I don't think I have mentioned this yet. The new June 12 deadline gives us a bit more
breathing room and allows to be a bit more patient with pockets before attacking them.

At the very northern part of the map, the German X Korps can break through to Hilversum.

May 16th

The further advance by X Korps on Amsterdam was blocked by the Dutch 3rd Division. They appeared there at the coast line just in time.
