Help on playing as the Soviets

Post by 56ajax »

I have spent most of the last 2 months as the AXIS.

As the Soviet I know i have to retreat using ports and rail, move factories, build units, but what else...do partisans automatically appear, do i turn all my unready units to refit, what do I do with all those Soviet HQs....

Advice and suggestions please.

Partisans are automatic. Just keep some transport units, set to night mode, in VVS airfields to resupply them.

I noticed today the RR Brigade has about 4 times the amount of labour squads as a construction unit 200 squads vs 50 squads

IF... the RR Brigade can dig (& repair rail) which I presume it can

Wouldn't they be a better Admin Point Investment???

Partisans appear either when captured Soviet cities do not have enough garrison requirement by the Axis player, or when Soviet units shatter ( surviving parts of the shattered unit become partisans ).  The beginning partisan unit is too small to do anything on it's own, it needs to grow ( air supply critical ). then it starts destroying Axis rail hexes. [:D]

Soviet Corps HQs disband on their own; you'll need those Army HQs to take over command of those divisions left without the corps HQs.

Yes they would IMHO.

In my current game that's all I'm building.
