I'm not HC trekkie and probably won't try this mod anytime soon, but that's some darn impressive work again Igard!

Oh, thank you again, Igard! Just splendid!! The Captain Spock era, I take it, which I suppose is equivalent to the Admiral Kirk era, more or less in the timeframe of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, correct?
Wow... now the only timeframes left are Deep Space Nine and the Voyager eras...
(hint, hint... [:D])
Great work! [;)]

ORIGINAL: Igard
1000 Posts!
Here it is, The Spock Era. Is this really any surprise?[8|] I wanted to add a couple more races to it, but it was getting to the stage where I felt I was taking too long without posting anything. Some of you must've thought I'd dropped off the face of the Earth. Previews will be up for each race shortly. Happy trekking everyone. [:)]
Kudos on 1,000 mate! The Igard Bird of Prey has now de-cloaked!
Igard.....you NEVER cease to amaze us (me especially)!

Thanks guys. [:)]
@Caesar_Augustus, Yes this is the equivalent to The Motion Picture era, or even the Star Trek III: TSFS movie since it's got the Excelsior in it. I'll follow this up the Picard era and then the Riker/Sisko/Janeway era. [:)]

Fed preview. There are LOTS of ships from this era, so if you know of any you'd like me to include as extras, let me know. I'll be releasing an additional unused shipset for class variants, possibly in the next update.

RE: [REL] Spock Era - Star Trek v1.0
It can be confusing because I made the Romulan Star Empire (TRSE) mod first with the intention that it would just be one race, the Romulans. I suppose that it'll get superseded by the new ones eventually.
Star Trek most certainly does live, but it is partly thanks to JJ Abrams sci-fantasy action adventure movie. It's breathed new life into the franchise, but I don't think the new movies will take off the same way the originals and TNG did. I hope that they eventually make another series, but not if their going to be in the same style as ST:XI. After all, it's just an attempt at making it more like Star Wars, which might make them money in the short term, but they can't compete with that.
I've been playing Star Trek:Online recently. It's not a bad game, but it's definately strayed from the path that Rodenberry set it on. It's mostly action with the Federation at war with everyone and there's no stun setting on the phasers. They are however working on making it more in tune with the series, so that's a good example of Star Trek fans demanding what they want and the developers listening.
Star Trek should remain Star Trek. It's about exploring not only space, but the human condition and representing the best that we can become in the future. It might not appeal to the masses, but that's what Trek is about and changing that will only turn fans away and move them towards Star Wars and other action orientated adventure genres which do that sort of thing much better.
Whoa, that was a bit of a rant wasn't it? It's good to be back. [:D]

Weyhey! Welcome back, and the new mod looks brilliant! Thats my favourite Federation set yet, there is more continuity of the colours throughout the set, which is a good thing in my opinion as they look better in a unit.

Agreed, Igard. The Star Trek and Star Wars universes are indeed different, but not entirely I think. True enough, the Star Trek universe develops "more likely", the future of mankind, but in the Star Wars universe, the corruption of the Old Republic whereby the Galactic Empire started its reign of terror, is not only in a galaxy so far, far away...
And with regards to the original Star Trek universe, much as I love it, certainly reflects the legitimate aspirations of the american culture of the 1960s, although in my mind, it's not a decade to be remembered so fondly of, globally speaking. Yes, a more ingenous decade, to be sure, than the 1990s and the first decade of the year 2000 (now past!), but perhaps a bit too ingenous back then of the human nature that turns its back to God. But that has always been the case ever since Adam and Eve, archtypical of the fallen human nature. This is what I truly believe, thanks to my strong traditional Catholic background, for which I am so grateful.
But anyway, much as Star Trek XI has much going for it, it really does feel that it was made in 2009, which is not at all bad in and of itself, of course, and made in 2009 not only because of the special effects, mind. The young crew was well done, although perhaps Scotty and Uhura were not captured as well as the others: Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Chekov.
Still, I rather enjoyed it (except the Bridge, which I did not like at all, somehow), and it was "Star Trek" in a certain sense, but certainly Star Trek some forty years later, and I'm quite sure that many of the Star Trek "purists" might not have liked it, whereas others greatly so. I myself have mixed feeings about it. There is something special about the original Kirk era TV series, and the the Picard era that for me will always remain "canon", obviously (!), and curiously enough, the Archer era I think has been very well done indeed, although it certainly reflects the decade of the 2000 timeframe that it was filmed in, with certain moral standards with which I personally cannot agree, of course. Still, the ST: Enterprise crew is magnificent and the stories somehow feel more closer to the original "canon." Since I haven't really seen many the the Sisko and Janeway eras, I cannot really say much about them.
Well, that's my little rant... thanks Igard! [;)] May we all find peace in our times (even if we enjoy blowing up entire planets with the Death Star... this is only a game, after all...) [:D] [;)]

RE: [REL] Spock Era - Star Trek v1.0
Igard has answered above: The Spock era is the Star Trek Motion Picture, Wrath of Khan, Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, The Final Frontier and Undiscovered Country era, coinciding with Spock being a Starfleet captain and James Tiberius Kirk being promoted to Starfleet admiral. Igard will kindly correct me if I've been imprecise, but I think I've got it right...[;)]
RE: [REL] Spock Era - Star Trek v1.0
Correct, Caesar. [;)]
I could be mistaken, but I think only 4 of the above Federation ships appeared in the movies. The Enterprise (consitution class), The Reliant (Miranda Class) from ST 2: Wrath of Khan, The Grissom (Oberth Class science ship) from ST 3: The search for Spock and The Excelsior(Excelsior Class) in ST 3: The search for Spock.

RE: [REL] Spock Era - Star Trek v1.0
Indeed that's my estimate, Igard. The ships you mention in the corresponding films. But I remember that the Enterprise refit for the original crew movies was named Enterprise-A.
Further along, in Star Trek: Generations, the Enterprise-B rather looks like the earlier Excelsior, I believe.
The Enterprise-C was somehow "lost" in the series, and if I'm correct, it appeared once in one of the Next Generations
time-travel 3rd season episode, briefly.
Then, the Enterprise-D was of course Picard´s vessel in the TV series,
and the Enterprise-E was Picard's final (?) command in the remaining three Next Generations movies, of which I particularly liked
"First Contact."
Ah, {sigh} memories... [;)]

RE: [REL] Spock Era - Star Trek v1.0
I'm glad you mentioned the Enterprise-C. I'd completely forgotten about it. I'll need to include that in the Picard Era mod if I can find an image of it.
The Enterprise-B also will be in the Picard era. It was an Excelsior refit with slightly different features and additional impulse engines.
