Arjuna,

Been a fan since HTTR. Bought them all looking forward to the day I could set my assault times and coordinate attacks (my forum name used to be Barbarossa2).

Just bought BFTB and am enjoying it tremendously. BUT!

I can't set the Start/End/"Assault At" times at all. I click on the buttons after setting up an attack, and nothing happens. The numbers don't even change.

:(

Thoroughly depressed. :(

Help?

Thanks from a fan who bought HTTR and COTA just to get to this point. :)

The End time, is used only for artillery.  Mysteriously it is not used elsewhere in the game.
 
The Start time, refers to the beginning of the movement, from the FUP to the assault objective.
 
The movement to the FUP and the Reorg, all happen before the Start time.

Joe 98,

That's not correct advice. You can adjust the start time of any task you order ( "that you order" ). However to do so, the game needs to be paused. Otherwise the order is implemented immediately and will start straight away. You can adjust the end time of any task whether the game is running or not, provided the new end time is after timeNow. For attacks start time refers to the start of the Move to the FUP. Assault At refers to the start of the assault.

Marshall,

Please check out the tutorial movies "Review AI Plans" and "Phase 2". The first one has instructions on setting the timing controls and the second one shows how to use the Assault At time. Now I strongly recommend that you pause the game before issuing timing controls. As I mentioned in my post above, you cannot adjust the start time unless the game is paused because otherwise the order will be immediately enacted and the start set. Please try that and let me know how you get on.

To clarify in an attack:

Start Time refers to the start of the movement to the FUP

Assault At time, is the start of the attack from the FUP to the Assault Objective.
