Airborne assault was not correctly installed, please re-install

Post by unleashed »

Hi.

I bought the digital download of Airborne Assault: Highway to the Reich. After installing it I tried to start it up and got the message: Airborne Assault was not correctly installed, please re-install.

I re-installed it and the same thing happened. I downloaded the game again and still had the same problem. I also ran a dxdiag report and no problems were found.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm really looking forward to playing the game.

Can you please email me your DXDiag report to support[at]panthergames[dot]com.

Can you also email me the file size of your installer?

If you haven't done so already can you please disable all anti-virus before reinstalling.

Let me know how this goes.

Looks like a few people are having problems. I've gone through the usual troubleshooting procedures with two customers now already to no avail. I have asked Matrix to give me access to the installer so I can check it out and see if it's corrupt. Stay tuned.

Dave, any news on progress with Matrix regarding the HTTR installation files?

I've raised the issue under the Matrix helpdesk, but I'm getting standard help info there (re-download file, turn off AV/Firewall, install under Administrator account etc).. I've been through several permutations of installation scenarios, including re-downloads, on several machines with different hardware/software configurations and none of them will install a playable version of the game.

All permutations result in the "Airborne Assault was not correctly installed, please re-install" error message.

Erik advised me on Friday that they would test the latest HTTR download installer and get back to me. I haven't heard anything yet. I imagine I will do so early this coming week. ( It's already Monday here! )

I was told by Matrix support that the issue was being worked on, and it would be announced on the main page once it is released.

I presume this would be a new installer or a patch for the current installer. I asked if they thought it would be up before Christmas, and they couldn't tell me either way.

I guess we just have to wait. I suppose with it being such an old title, it might not receive priority attention, but its a bit off that the game is still being sold with an installer that just doesn't seem to work.

Thanks spelk. If a product that customers are paying for turns out to be defective then it should receive top priority.

Erik emailed me to say that Andrew "found a problem with the download version on the store, the same day that I said we would test it. The store version was replaced, re-tested and new download links and notifications were sent out to the eight customers that we determined could have been affected by the issue."

If you haven't received an email with the new link, please get back to me here.
