New Purchase System? Very Bad!

Post by Johnus »

Why would you guys mess with the easiest most streamlined purchasing system in the industry. What the heck is "plimus?" First I couldn't make the link work. Finally I used a different browser and after a few attempts it worked. Then I couldn't get to plimus to get the download. Now I'm finally downloading and it's proceeding so slowly it's not even registering. After 10 minutes or so, no progress on the bar, no percentage and no transfer rate.

You guys had set the gold standard for ease of purchase. What have you done?

Hi Johnnie,

I'm very sorry to hear that you are having issues with the new store. Plimus is a top of the line provider of download services, just as good as DR based on our due diligence. The feedback we've had so far overall has been very good and it's working well for us, but we are absolutely interested in hearing about, investigating and fixing any issues. First, can you tell me which browser you were using initially? Second, where are you purchasing/downloading from? Downloads go very quickly for me from the new site, so I'm concerned that you are not seeing the same.

Feel free to e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with this info if you prefer. I could also use your order number if you have it.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik: Thanks, as always for the quick reply. I found that by switching from Internet Explorer to Mozilla, everything worked. I was also able to download the game quickly. With Internet Explorer the download like would simply not connect: "unable to connect" screen would appear. Also when I finally was able to get to plimus (with Internet Explorer) the game was barely downloading, no progress at all. With Mozilla it was fine. Never previously had any problems with Matrix with either browser.

Sorry for the rant. As my wife is fond of reminding me, I am not good with change, change of any type. Look forward to trying MH2.

Hi Johnnie,

No problem and thanks for the reply. Which version of Internet Explorer was this? We tested with both IE and Firefox, including downloads and had no issues on both.

Odd, works fine on IE8 here. Can you confirm which exact version (? -> About Internet Explorer in the IE8 menu bar) and which OS you are running on? Any other apps or toolbars or add-ons running?

Mr. erik...

I have purchased numerous games from matrix for years now...though i dont register them all doesnt matter..i like your strategic games. You need live customer service reps and yes i will pay 4.00 more per title to have access to a human being verses sending crappy emails... hire some folks please..I wish to resolve issues without sending emails back and forth. Please fix your issue of no one to call when issues arise..its bad bad service.
