The long-awaited Eastern Front mega-game has arrived!

Matrix Games and 2by3 Games (www.2by3games.com) are proud to announce that Gary Grigsby’s War in the East is now available for purchase in the Matrix Games Online Store! Now gamers who want to experience unparalleled realism, scope, and detail on the Eastern Front done by an award-winning development team need look no further! Both download and physical copies are available from either the Matrix Games or Slitherine store, with the physical copy including a printed manual.

There’s been plenty of excitement surrounding the release of War in the East, here’s a look at some of the coverage (and there’s more on the way):
  • A very successful developer chat with 2by3 Games that had dozens of participants!
  • A new AAR has just been published on Armchair General.
  • A two part AAR feature is also now available on The Wargamer.
  • Lead Designer at 2by3 Games, Joel Billings, has submitted to the Wargamer a Developer Diary feature.
  • A manual preview showing off an entire chapter of the extensive, beautifully-crafted manual.
  • A couple of screenshot packs just for fun!
David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “War in the East is one of our biggest and most anticipated releases of the year so we’re very excited to be announcing that it’s now available for purchase. 2by3 Games has worked hard over the past few years to make this game the classic it will no doubt become but enough chit chat – Stalingrad isn’t going to just besiege itself!”

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is the spiritual heir to the great Eastern Front board and computer wargames of the past; a turn-based World War II strategy game down to the division and brigade level, stretching across the entire Eastern Front at a 10 mile per hex scale. Gamers can engage in massive, dramatic campaigns, including intense battles involving thousands of units with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results. As with all the award-winning titles made by the 2by3 Games team, factors such as supply, fatigue, experience, morale and the skill of your divisional, corps and army leaders all play an important part in determining the results at the front line. Gary Grigsby’s War in the East comes with 4 massive campaigns as well as many smaller scenarios all with different strategic and operational challenges.

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East represents a truly epic representation of the Second World War on the Eastern Front and is unparalleled in its scale, detail, and ambition!
