RE: Happy Halloween
Here in Pinon, the trick or treating was supposed to be from 6 pm to 8 pm, but the first kids showed up at 4 pm and by 7 pm I had given out over 800 pieces of candy, 240 packs of toiletries (donated to our school but we couldn't hand them out for some bureaucratic reason), and about $30 in small change before I packed it in, turned off my light, and hid out in the dark [:D]
We have huge crowds, but never as many as this year. I could look down my street in the Teacher Housing area and probably see over 200 kids at once. It looked like a huge street fair most of the time. Unbelievable! I managed to snap a couple of pictures when things slowed down a bit, otherwise I was handing stuff out as fast as I could grab it out of the bowl!
Crazy! Lots of fun though! I'm just sorry I didn't buy twice as much candy (spent nearly $100 on what I handed out and that wasn't nearly enough).

Here we light candles on our graves. Halloween celebration has been increasing among the young as has the tradition to light candles on our graveyards.

Me neither. Four years old this thread. Nice pictures though Rhonda and Orm.
Say Orm that church ain't perhaps located in Värmland by any chance? Been there a few times, but they all look similar I guess.

No, it is a church located in Skåne (Scania). But many Swedish churches look like that but far from all do.ORIGINAL: Josh

Is it Halloween?

RE: Happy Halloween
It was a surprise to see those photos from Pinon, Navajo Nation, surface on this resurrected thread.
Here on the ranch, I have zero trick or treaters and I do miss the excitement of the turnout up on the reservation. Halloween is a huge deal for kids who often do not have that much in the way of treats or gifts. Halloween is Christmas in October for them
I'm glad to see the tradition gaining popularity again. It seems for many years people were too intimidated by threats of poisoned treats or molesters to allow their kids to go out and knock on doors. I always felt the fear and danger was exaggerated (though real, but no more than the risk of getting run over in the street).
Both my grand kids were out enjoying the evening with their proud parents Wish I could have been there to see it
