MAD RUSSIAN

I'll have to see where some of those may fit in.

MR

I am tinkering with a scenario, thus:

./0\.--./0\.--./0\.--./0\.--./0\.--./0\.
````````````````````````````````
March 43
Kharkov outskirts
"Achtung Panzer Jaeger!"
----
German [human] TD and green Inf vs Russian [AI] Tank assault.
Point 1000 vs 1000
Light Snow.
----
About a company of enemy medium and light tanks pushed past our forward Inf gePzt. The Russian infantry was tied up and held back to a certain degree by those forward troops.
The thrust is heading for our rear.
Your command includes numerous elements of the PzJaeger Btn.
Cut off the enemy spearhead. If they make it past, our division will have to shrink its lines, abandoning troops and gains up front!
The Soviet attack was reported to be heading past your position to the south. You should have advantageous sighting against the enemy.
Reinforcements are being mustered to buttress your positions. But _engage_ the enemy with what you have until they get there!
=============
History
After the German defeat around Stalingrad in the winter of 42-43, the Wehrmacht lost the 'initiative', having been dealt a sizable blow in material and morale. Germany pulled back its entire line to prevent any more losses.
The plan originally was to pull the entire Russian Front back to Poland and erect a new fall-back line comprised of German heavies-- the "Wotan Line".
In March 43, under von Manstein in the south, the German Army counter attacked at Kharkov. This was the third and final time the city was to be a focal point of the Ost Front war.
Success for the Germans at Kharkov III would mean that the German fall-back line would stop there, thus setting the stage for the Battle of Kursk, where Germany's fists were cut off.
I like these behind the scenes things. So you're forced to like them too. [:D]
Note the two new crew I made. The winters have the German hoodie jacket and a head muffler towel-kerchief.
Now the PG's can have their AT assets with them.
The more vehicles we add to support the PBI the better.
I´m very much interested in german mobile AT gun toys and their tactics, so I would be looking forward to read some AAR of yours, once you have set this up! [:)]
Spellir74,
Really nice job. [&o] Your models are excellent, as usual. It's pretty clear why the crews disliked their "crates" so much, because on some they were practically standing out in the open. Your versions depict that very well. Some of the later versions had a little more cover, but nothing that would slow down an AP round, and barely a MG round. Looking forward to using them in scenarios. Your suggested scenario sounds very interesting.
I agree with z1812. Spellir's models are excellent. I wish I had artistic talent, but it takes a $10,000 CAD program for me to make anything look even halfway decent, and I'm not joking.
The tools that spellir uses = $US50. That is the nice thing about PCO now, you can use a very cheap CAD program to get great results. Of course you can use a 10K program as well if you wish [;)]
The $50 dollar CAD programs require some artistic talent. The more expensive ones compensate for people with none, like me.
