Authorized equipment = zero

Post by Panama »

How difficult would it be to give an equipment type in a unit an authorized number of zero as a minimum amount instead of one?

The way it is now, if a unit begins a scenario with an equipment type it's not supposed to receive replacements for, it will still always have one. An authorized number of zero would take care of that.

Just asking.

You can always save the game file as XML, edit it and see if it works, and let me know what happens if it is (or isn't) what you wanted.

Editing the xml file and giving an authorized value of zero works fine. If you have a large oob it's going to be a headache.

While I was running the test and checking the combat report I noticed the headings for the columns were not sitting over the columns they represented. For instance, "Replacements" was over the Engaged/Disabled columns and "Engaged Disabled" was over the Equipment column and "Equipment" was over the icons for the equipment type.

This was with default fonts and 178.

Not really. If you need a lot of different units to have zero authorised equipment, just pick another number to stand in for 0- an irregular number that's not going to get used anywhere else. Then when you're done whack open the XML and do a find/replace.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."

That's the ticket. [;)]
