It is the Heritage of the Great War site, if you ever want a downer if life go to that site. As far as being called a rebel, does that make you guys the "Evil Galatic Empire"?

(Making the rounds at the moment - and it's kind of war and football...)

This World Cup is turning out just like the Second World War...

The French surrendered early
The yanks showed up at the last minute
And England are left fighting the Germans

Listen to the commentary or read the papers....so many words are used that are normally in reference to warfare...

we have stopped making war through nationalistic reasons because it's now chanelled on the football pitch...it's the newest form of warfare where no one gets killed nor property damaged...it took the English a little longer than most though to understand this...i.e Football Hoollie..

I liked that movie as a kid until they made Sly a keeper. As a former keeper it offended me that Pele would recommend a spastic, no hands midget for the position but then I remembered David Seaman (just kidding England fans).

Thats an amazing thread!

Man the US played so well in the second half! Hope this fires up soccer interest in the US, sould be good to have you take part regularly in a true WC! Was great to see some of the US fans at home!

Now, today is England v Germany! Check this link to see the rivalry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England_an ... ll_rivalry

Man, the whole of England will be on a knife edge until the game is finished! Really is kind [paraphrasing lol] of "Football is an expression of war by other means"

Now, back to England v Germany!

Marc, ur gonna lose mate ; )

As Lineker said once; football is a game for 22 people that run around, play the ball, and one referee who makes a slew of mistakes, and in the end Germany always wins.

In today's match with germany refrees were really poor, but english squad was actually worse.

Thank you Shaun,

maybe Mexico will do this job tonight. [;)]

Otherwise it will be a tough match against Argentina and Messi.

But at the moment we are very glad to have reached the next round.

Whats with all this Rebel talk? Don't categorize me with any Damn Yankee!  :)

BTW, I think the soccer name was an English (as in England) word that was short for association. Correct me if I am wrong. (I'm sure you will)
