Nafziger OOB collection released

Post by comte »

This is a great collection of OOB's for many armies from 1600 to WW2 I thought this might be useful to scenario designers. I think you used to have to pay to look at it but the guy who compiled all this data decided to release it for free.

This is a great collection. One problem is the code Nafziger uses for the PDF's. What does 919RAAA mean? (it's the Russian White Volunteer Army as of 1 January 1919)

Highly recommend you go to the CGSC site and down load the Finding Aid, it's a partial listing of all documents with title. Not all but a good start.

919 = 1919. R = Russian. AAA = first document (AAB would be second and so on). I've seen Japan with both a P and a J. Have not bothered to think about why.

That's about as far as I've gotten with my understanding of the coding. If you go to his web page where he sells the most up to date documents I think his code is explained.
