My Own Scenario List by Titles and Dates

Post by Wild Bill »

Since I have had a couple of requests as to scenarios and campaigns I have done for SPWAW, I will post the list to date.

This is by no means a way to "toot" my own horn and only is offered as information. I just have not had the time to find, catalog and file all the scenarios done by so many fine authors and posted at the Game Depot and other sites.

And it does in no way minimize or put down the hard work done by so many other fine scenario designers. I'm glad to see all of them. I hope one day to have a total list for you.

A couple of these are still to be published. The rest will be found either in the game itself, the Game Depot or at Fabio Prado's or Rick Cloutier's web sites.

Many thanks Bill for the time and effort to make these available. Is it correct that all of them can be played using SPWAW version 4.4 ?

I'd like to ask essentially the same question as Polarbear - having just visited "browse all scenarios", I found a load that aren't in my list for v4.4. I've downloaded everything with gold stars that didn't seem familiar. I think I saw in the forum that loading them into v4.4 will bring them "up to speed" so they can be played - is that true?
Retreat is NOT an option.

First of all, many thanks for your support and encouragement, fellow gamers and my good friends, all.

Secondly, I love your "nukem" critter, Don D!

You all amaze me with these. You fellas have more of those than I do scenarios Image

As to the scenarios themselves, they come from an inordinate desire to recreate a "semblance" of historical events and the urge to "relive the moment."

They also come with some 15 years of experience of trying to do this. Yes, they can be time consuming in research, coming up with the battle, converting the idea to computer limitations, and then testing (Thank God for the testers! - Great bunch of guys).

In most scenarios I make some sort of conversions. You'll see unique units that I create with the editor, including paltry attempts at civilians, wounded, and other types of units that are not found in the game.

Some of you have already commented on my "souped-up" recon units. I like 'em "Rat Patrol" style, with a little bite to them. Image

And I enjoy making a positive contribution to a hobby I've enjoyed for over 35 years, over 1/2 my life...wargaming!

Writing has been my first love, but I've found creating scenarios and campaigns is another form of creation that is very satisifying.

Good luck to you Red Baron and to all the rest in your creations. I'm glad to see you giving scenario design a try. That is why we have upgraded the editor, not just for our pleasure, but also for yours.

If God grants me the life, we'll one day fill all those 1000 slots with battles. There is enough material and history to do it, if we can just find the time.

Again, my thanks to all of you. And I encourage you to keep on with you own efforts. For those who can't for whatever reason, we'll keep 'em coming for your gaming pleasure!
