Time of Wrath v1.70 Public Beta

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! Finally it is here, for those interested in being the first to try 1.70. This is a Beta patch, so please give us feed back on how it works for you.
You must be a member to download the patch from the Members Club here. You will need to register your game, if you haven't already, and then go to Registered Downloads, to get the zip file with the installer.

When trying to open the mods, ToW says "This game is not compatible with current version". This was only to be expected, so there's no critisism on my behalf.

Before I start a time-consuming trial and error session, though, is there something you can point at directly being the cause for the incompatibility? I have to re-work consts, I understand that much, but what other files do I have to alter?

Of course, in worst case, I can always re-mod the entire game anew. But it would be convenient to only work on the differing files.

try changing the version number in the misc.csv file

The amphibious assaults in North Africa, and Sicily and especially Normandy should be our guide. Plenty of "from the sea" by the US, British and Canadian armies.

Ah yes you are right, anyway we still have to buy amphibious points to do an amphibious assault in version 1.70?

The amphibious part of the game works very well.

I didn't get the ETO to work by changing the version number, but managed to work around it.

I am unable to register ToW to download the patch because it says my serial number is already in use.  I can only assume its from RtV.  Is there anyway to register so I can download the latest patch?

phillipcs, what can I say is that with the future titles we will do our best to deliver patches in the same time to all of our customers.

Playing as the british the Barbarossa scenario I have not noticed any fighter interceptions occuring. It is currently turn 8. Am I just being unlucky or are their other factors in play?

I may have been in error. Since reinforcing my interceptors they now seem to be doing their job. They seemed reluctant when at half strength

Still testing Barbarossa campaign as the British.The US does not join the Allies on December 7th 1941![&:]  This was a problem in version 1.60 when I played it. Very frustrating to spend hours to play a game and not have a major event which should occur eventuate.

How does one get the ETO mod to work? Uxbridge said changing the version number in the misc file didn't work. What does?

Augustus, in fact it did work. I was trying to change a sligthly newer version of ETO and there's where the problem was. Don't know why. When trying to change the version number on the standard ETO, there was no problem.

Just open misc, locate the number "1.6" and change it to "1.7".

It is WAD. Fighters stay passive when its strength is low, otherwise they would be doomed during interception.

It's not automatic. It's NEVER automatic! [:D]
It depends on preceding events and the US  response to them.
 
The US might stay neutral all the way, if not attacked by Japan. They might choose to fight Japan only, they MIGHT join the Alliance or fight the Axis without joining the Alliance, as a co-belligerent and I hope the developers have allowed for the strong pro-Axis sentiment in the US in the late 30s by allowing that, if FDR does NOT get re-elected and the Bund and the Silver Shirts become stronger, there's a chance that the US joins the Axis.[X(]
 
In-game "events" are a mystery and extremely variable in combination. Don't expect the game to proceed on historical rail tracks.[8D] That's one of the joys of the system.
