LW tutorial doesn´t match the game.

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

LW tutorial doesn´t match the game.

Post by Tordan69 »

Hi, I just bought the game and have followed the Allied tutorial without any problems. However, the German tutorial doesn´t match what I see in-game. The LW fighter-bomber gruppe isn´t in the list and there are no fighters at all available for escort. I´ve installed the beta patch. No biggie, but it would be fun to experiment a bit, as suggested in the tutorial, but having no escorts sort of narrows the choices for me.
So, is it me or has the game changed since the manual was written?

click on the Stab for the lead, then add in any bombers you want to add (since it is a FB that is leading, it will only show other FBs)

add those, then click on add escourt

if you started 41 by mistake, you will still show the 110 FBs, only they changed the name and increased the size of the unit, it is now SKG 210

It was definitely me, I must have snafu´d somewhere. All things look like the manual now, must be the fact that I took some time off and repaired the shower at home :D Thanks for the massive pictorial response, appreciated!

I´m a former army captain (reserve nowadays), arctic mech infantry in Sweden. This is pretty much my first sortie into WWII air warfare (see what I did there, heh). Looking forward to many hours of learning the game and the blue side of conducting business.

Edit: Actually something must have changed. The screen layout earlier had the map extending all the way to the right, like in your pics. Now It does not, it shows a blueprint and a swastika to the right. Anywho, I think I´ll just move on before I muddle up my brain. Laters!

good, I am glad it helped (nice thing with the web and forums now, we can show pictures, instead of trying explain (which for me, makes people more confused most times !)

I never made it that far north, did get to play with some of the guys in Denmark though (surprised some recon types who were trying to sneak in on us (that was fun) (shocked and scared some of our German troops we played with, sort of caught and threw a Officer to the ground by his web gear, as my Lt came running up, yelling they were friendly troops, had to swiftly change my finishing move, into a helping hand up, with a big smile on my face, of course, in hindsight, if they had done what we had done, I would of been running too !!!)

hope you enjoy the game, air war is a little different then what you were trained for :)

I gave one of our Lt's a black eye during one of our training missions, captured him, and sort of fell on top of him (everybody thought I was trying to kill him, I slipped, honest :) got back to the base camp, and the Capt, walked up, and told him, we would give him a ride back to his lines, but he said no, he would walk, the Capt seen his eye, and asked what happen, he told the Capt, that one of the guys kind of slipped when he was captured, Capt turned around and started calling my name, saying """" you know better then that, and I am like, me, why me, why does everybody always think it is me, Capt glared at me, and so I had to say, I slipped Sir, honest, Capt said, yea, just like every other time

ohhhh, guess I shouldn't mention the Col. I slapped, that was embearassing (hehe, he stood up and asked me, if I was quite finished yet, YES Sir, ah, NO Sir, ahh, sorry bout that Sir, that one was in the PX, so I couldn't blame the web gear for that one :)

but it was a accident, honest, lol the other 3 Sgts I was there with, were no where to be found, talk about bugging out !!!

dang thinking back on it, I was dangerous (there are a couple more I could talk about :)
