Game Freeze on Vichy

Post by Tomokatu »

We are playing a pbem of vanilla V1.60.
We had been using "esc and save" for the interplayer decisions and emailing each other the saved games
On Gameturn 20 the game refused to load for edelweiss.
I re-sent the saved zip files Same thing happened.
We revealed to each other the decisions we had chosen (Axis to offer Vichy, France to accept the offer) and I re-loaded the last successful turn I had received, played the British turn, played the French turn but when the game progressed to the AI-controlled "pbem player" turn I (as german) offered Vichy, then I (as French) accepted the Vichy offer.

That's the point at which the game froze. Could not ALT-TAB to the OS, had to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to terminate the game.

The control.out file is 333Kb in size[sm=00000619.gif]

What other files do you want zipped with that and sent (to Bleck? Anraz? Barak Obama?, the Archbishop of Canterbury?)[:D]

Following up on my initial request, attached console.out.txt zipfile

Much of the file seems to be the setup for Yugoslavian units. There seem to be dome issues "path not found" for Spanish (neutral) naval moves but the Vichy event at the end is our major concern )I think!

We had exactly the same problem in an ETO game. Found no solution and don't have the save or ConsoleOut. Just wanted you to know that the occurrence wasn't restricted to this particular game.

I was a bit vague there. What I meant was that the crash didn't happen only in your particular PBEM game, we had it as well, and in a different scenario too. [:)]

Thanks for the mention, Ux - I must search for that thread.

Bleck - I shall communicate with my opponent and post him the same file I sent you, maybe it will either re-activate for him, or he may be able to add more information.

Well, he replayed the last successful gameturn I had sent him - this time choosing NOT to accept French Vichy and so far the game appears to continue OK.
