Decompression Error

Post by New York Jets »

While trying to install the downloaded copy of the gane I keep getting mutiple decompression errors.

"A decompression error has occured (#1024)"

I hit the ignore button and immediately get another decompression error message for another file. After 30 or so of these I just quit installing.

What should I do?

I saw that too. I had to delete the file and redownload it. It took three tries, but I was successful.

99% of the time, that means you have a corrupted file. Delete it, clear your internet cache and re-download.

How do you clear your internet cache?

Edit: Got it. Thanks.

I've NEVER had a corrupted download from Matrix. I wonder if such things are down to the service provider? Lack of consistent bandwidth, breaks in service, unreliable service or some such?

Yes, the corrupt file is not on our side, it's a question of what happens to it as it gets transmitted. This corruption could happen anywhere between our server and your computer - bad routers, internet storms, what have you. It's very rare but it does happen.
