Aleutians Scenario - BBs not rearming?

Post by Knavey »

Dutch Harbor dockside workers must be on strike. I just had a bombardment run (the first) against Kiska Island and the BBs came back and will not reload. Thought this was going to be fixed in the first patch but I could not find where it was talked about.

Any ideas on how to get some more ammo for my big guns?

hehe ... knowing Knavey ... somewhere in the annals out there (of which I am not aware this time) there must be a real case where the Dutch Harbor dockside workers were on strike and the BBs came back from a bombardment run and could not rearm. I guess I'll have to drag out by sources on the war in the cold place and hunt it down!

I abandoned the scenario because of the very same reason. Simply the port size is not enough and there is not enough naval support to rearm with 14" shells.

I was stationed in Dutch Harbor for 8 months.  I can assure you of a few things:
1. Everything takes forever to get there.
2. The weather sucks.
3. There is nothing to do.
4. The weather sucks.
5. Slow internet connection.

This may explain why yours guys are doing no work.  There is actually a WWII cartoon that I saw where two GI's are talking and one of them says "if the Japs do come, I can talk 'em out of staying."

Nah...this is a for real bug. Going to have to go into battle half loaded this time I suppose. Landing on Kiska takes place this turn. Luckily, I did not send all of my BBs in on the bombardment run so I have some surface assets that have shells left.

I assume I don't have to ask if you've installed the patch?

Hmmm, I've been checking my notes and it SHOULD work, post-patch. Of course, that doesn't mean anything in the real world; I'll look into it.

I installed the patch just before my TF pulled into DH. Sure enough...no reload. I can try it again if someone would like me to. Should be easy enough to reproduce vs. AI since its a short scenario.

Currently I am just going to build up the port to see if that works.

Knavey, did you by any chance move a tender out of the harour?

I believe that was Terminus' intended solution for this issue.
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

I do not think so.

Will check on the tender.

I just ran a quick vs. AI to see what happened and they are rearming as they should.

My BBs will be heading back this turn in the PBEM game and I will check to see if they rearm on this trip.

I was in a hurry to get them out last turn since my invasion force had already left and timing is everything.

The tender needs to be loaded with supplies to function.

That AE starts with 66% of its supply load, and it is less than 3000 at start. I think you have to load more supplies on it to have it rearm your BBs.
