Full Size AE Planning Map and Game Map (Update 22.Oct.2010)
Here you can download several different versions of a planning map and
a game map (substitution for a WitP AE map) with data from scenario 1
23.Oct.2010 The first two new maps are ready for download.
22.Oct.2010 I'm ready for your map wishes. See my post on page 5.
07.Apr.2010 New game maps. I added the garrison requirements. (Good idea fflaguna[:)]) Because of this there are now different versions for Japan and the Allies. The data did not change from version v1.0.2.1097. The Current version is 1.0.3.1102a
07.Jan.2010 I updated the maps with the data from version v1.0.2.1097
I also added a game map without the hexes.
Game Maps:
data from game version v1.0.3.1102a
The values displayed are from scenario 1.
Here are the differences to scenario 2. I think an extra version is not necessary[8|]
"Hiroshima/Kure" Ressources 120/320 (Left Scen 1/Right Scen 2)
"Nagoya" Oil 5/25
"Shimonoseki" Oil 16/32
"Tokyo" Oil 5/50
"Tokyo" Ressources 280/380
"Pescadores" Ressources 0/50
They come as a selfextracting(exe) 7-Zip archive file. The bmp files have to be extracted in the ART directory of AE. The archive overwrites the existing WPEH/WPEN-files used by AE to display the map. Perhaps you would want to save these files first.
To make the new map work you have to set the switch "Map Style" in the Preferences Menu to the correct setting.
layout:
top left: Max Port / top right: Max Airfield
left: Oil / right: Ressources
bottom: LCU stacking limit (red) or Garrison requirement (purple)

RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
Very cool and I am sure also very helpful. I can't wait to see the full monty. Appreciate the time devoted.

Edit: It is probably too much work at this point but it would be nice if the port size and airfield size were of different colors. Seems like it would reduce the run-ons of the many hexes/bases that are together. Like I said, prolly not the right time. Just a suggestion

Very nice, I would definately use this!

That's possible since I put I together with a script and PhotoShop.
Please let me know if you find some errors or what could be better.

RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
Awesome job, this is exactly what I was looking for!
Are there any option within the game to get the map to show all the information that you have on your planning map? If not, how did you get all that information onto the planning map? Must of been a ton of work.
RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
Very nice! I will be using these on planning operations.
Thank you.
Thank you.
RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
The map wasn't built by me. PhotoShop did the work. [8D]
I put together a VBScript that read the data from the csv file that witpload generates.

RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
This is a very nice map. I don't want to be a PITA, but could you make it two maps vs just this one.
Map 1 - Economic assets (Manpower, Resources, Oil, Refineries, Heavy Industry, and Light Industry). If each could have its own color, that would be great.
Map 2 - Base info - Port, AF, and terrain type

Map 1 is possible. The following data could be included: Oil, Resources, Manpower, Heavy Industry, Naval Shipyard, Merchant Shipyard, Repair Shipyard, Armament Assembly, Vehicle Assembly, Light Industry, Refinery.
But I think the space is not sufficient [8|]. Do you really want to have those 6 values you listed?
Map 2 is possible too but I don't have the terrain type data. If I'm correct then this is stored in the pwhex file which I can't access.
I just uploaded a new version with different colors for all values (see first post for a link)
Oil - Black
Resources - Green
AF - Brown
Port - Blue

RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
Thanks for the map!
Huh I didn't notice it before, but looking at the values now... Is it me, or you can build an airfield pretty much everywhere in the Solomons, including on Tassafaronga, Florida or San Cristobal...?! And Ndini can be built up to level 5?! [X(]
I guess that was researched, wasn't it? But it really changes a lot of things in the area, strategically speaking. But was the airstrip on Tassafaronga really necessary? I mean, I thought they chose Lunga because they couldn't put it anywhere else...

RE: Full Size AE Planning Map with base icons
New map looks great. I will be using these quite a bit. I have the game running on one laptop with the manual displayed on another. Time to grab the daughters so I can have the map going as well. I'm sure the threat of some chores should stifle any opposition.

mylar overlays of the various data, similar to the old book I had regarding the various parts/functions of the human body. Came with 6-7 mylar overlays each showing some different aspect ....
Damn impressive work btw ...
