Matrix Games Announces the Civil War Blitzkrieg Sale!

Post by SeanD »

Three stellar Civil War titles now 35% off in honor of the outset of the American Civil War!

Matrix Games is thrilled to announce the American Civil War Blitzkrieg Sale! From April 24th until Midnight on Sunday April 27th Matrix Games’ three top Civil War titles will be 35% off their regular price. This means that Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States, American Civil War – The Blue and the Gray, and Forge of Freedom will now be available for $32.99 for the digital download and $42.99 for the physical shipment!

Each of these three titles has an award studded record with both critics and gamers and there’s never been a better time to purchase one or all of them:

Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States was recently elected Wargame of the Year by Gamer’s Hall and Flash of Steel and has received many favorable reviews and accolades from game reviewers around the world.

American Civil War – The Blue and the Gray won the gold medal for the Wargame of the Year in 2007 from the War-Historical group. The game is no stranger to positive feedback from the press as it was hailed as possibly “the best Grand Strategic simulation of the Civil War ever devised” by The Wargamer and capable of “pace and levels of excitement you don't often find in hardcore wargames” by PC Gamer UK.

Forge of Freedom won the Wargamer’s Reader’s choice award bronze for both Wargame and Overall Game of the Year in 2006. The game also sports over a dozen solid reviews in which it received high marks.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Each of these three titles represents a unique take on the American Civil War and any true fan of this conflict should really enjoy all three. This opportunity is definitely the best time to pick up the one or two titles missing in your collection or to get all three in one swift move!”

Taking gamers back to the start of the American Civil War, Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

In AGEOD's American Civil War - The Blue and the Gray, players are military and political leaders trying to lead the troops of their nations (armies and fleets) to victory, in the midst of some of the toughest operations during those five years of wild campaigning throughout a divided nation. Most of the individual years of campaign between 1861 and 1865 are playable via a separate scenario. Advanced scenarios will allow recreation of some yearly and/or theatre campaigns, and there will be of course the complete Grand Campaign covering the whole war.

Forge of Freedom: The American Civil War 1861-1865 combines grand strategy with battlefield tactics in one game, putting you in command at every level of the Civil War, from the mobilization of your nation’s resources to the control of individual brigades during the fury of battle. Relive the days of America’s greatest struggle: a time of blood, smoke, and glory.

Sorry, that's not part of this one. That was just discounted during the holiday sale and we feel it's very affordably priced already given the amount of content it includes.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves. I had to go and buy War Between the States because of this. [:-] [:'(]

Wow, that has to be one of the shortest sales ever. Haven't checked the forums for a few days and I read about the start of the sale and the end of the sale at the same time! Disappointing.
